No, it's because he wasn't prepared to become President, and didn't have what is usually an established list of appointess to choose from. For instance, he appointed John Bolton who is notorious for being a war hawk, but he had to fill the seat. When it became obvious that Bolton was pushing for war, Trump knew that it was not an electable strategy; so, he dumped him. The reality is, he should have never been appointed in the first place because it was already known what his interests were. But, make it up as you go along.

Trump ran as a way to promote his brand. He had been doing it for decades. He didn't expect to be Presaident; which is why he said at one point "Can you believe I'm still in this thing?"

There's really nothing Trump can do at this point to alienate his base; unless he betrayed some coveted Conservative ideal. He could literally be caught molesting children, and it would be dismissed by his base as some kind of deep state conspiracy. They except no checks on his Presidency.

The right tends to ascribe to an authoritarian mindest. It's why they have blind loyalty toward the police, and military. At heart they gravitate towards dictators; as long as they dictate for them. It's a personality type.

Case in point, look at how much ass licking is mobilized to defend the interests of billionaires. If you were curious what sort of weak mental gymnastics functionaries perform to defend our banker elites, look no further than this guy. This is the real face of Trump supporters; a weak, timid defense of financial elites like George Soros and Jeff Bezos despite the fact that they were supposed to be fighting the "NWO Global Establishment."

First you ignore the fact that the 1% control more wealth than the bottom 50% of society, and then you act them paying more then the poor is somehow impressive when their total percentage contribution is significantly lower.
