UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Green PBP/Discussion

I wish to see Islam KOed again, but, he got an easy fight, Green probably got injuries from the last fight.

Watching this and seeing Usman sitting there makes me think...

How would you guys cap Islam vs Usman at 170? Could Islam even implement that ridiculous grappling vs Usman? Or no?

usman could ko him with his stiff jabs, i'm sus of islam's chin.

IDK...he did get blasted by Martins but that was a big shot and a long time ago. Haven't seem his chin even dented since then.

I just wonder if Islam (a bit bigger version at 170 obviously) would be able to outgrapple Usman or not.

That's a ramos jab, now imagine usman' who spams them and they're heavy asf lol. I also don't think it's a coincidence that Islam only absorbs 0.79 strikes per minute, he adjusted his style to limit strikes being landed on him cause he prob knows his chin is sus.
 
hernandez has clear ptv with wrestling, favorite lines are justified.

I highly doubt it. Usman doesn't really give takedowns and Islam hasn't beaten a wrestler like that yet in his career. I won't believe it until I see it.

For sure. So I guess my question would be if Islam doesn't screw around and stay on the outside and just quickly closes distance, can he bully Usman and put him on his back and do what he does? Or is Usman too good a grappler to get big brother'd by him? Esp since Usman is naturally probably a little bigger.

Usman has god tier TDD and weight classes exist for a reason, so I think Islam would struggle a lot in that department. I also think Usman's cardio is confirmed to be absurd whereas I've seen islam look pretty tired like in the 3rd round of arman fight for example. He's doing well for the most part cause he's always in control, but I wonder what his cardio really looks like in a 5 rounder when he's the one being pushed and he's not dictating everything.
 
Yea that’s about as 50-50 as a round can get. Thought Alta was edging it until the takedown,
