I just watched Conan the Destroyer last night. I haven't seen it in years. While it is definitely more soft and goofy than The Barbarian, I still enjoyed it quite a lot. It made me wish we would have gotten a third film, especially in the 80s. I'm not so much wanting one now, but had Arnold made it around 1986, that would have been awesome. Too bad he wasted the third film of his contract doing the garbage ass Red Sonja.
They definitely don't make them like they used to. Although movies like Lord of the Rings are great movies, there's just something about them that doesn't have that special "it" factor that the 80s movies did. I sure as hell would like to see a Lord of the Rings movie made with the effects of Clash of the Titans or Conan. Man, that would be so much more epic than the CGI trash they're made of now. And imagine it with a score from Basil Poledouris! Amazing.
I miss 80s Sword & Sorcery movies.

I am trying to get 80s babes into prime tournaments in the Pictures & Multimedia forum. You ever seen Private School? Good movie!
My kids spend a shit ton more money than we did. It’s 30 bucks every time they go out. Sky zone, air softing, ice skating, movies, are all not cheap.
We had a Pathmark shopping center that had a mini mall. The mall had pizza, an Orange Julius, a video arcade and a record store. You could do it all, including a new cassette or record for 12-15 bucks. 2 slices and a soda was 2 bucks. A cassette was 6.99. And the arcade was 25. A game. I remember meetin a girl and playing pole position. We then got pizza. And went to the record store. I remember buying old Aerosmith cassettes in the discount bin for 1.00. To make out you would go to the back of the arcade that had the older games. I remember she was a head banger chick and wore a WASP T shirt lol. The smell of hairspray was strong. Great times.
I' be been watching alot of music videos from the eighties on YouTube for the past few days. Call me all by Paul Simon , new sensation by inxs, and five young cannibals.I wish I could have grown up in the eighties. It seemed like a great time to be alive.
