I seriously have no idea how producers/directors get put in charge of making important decisions regarding storylines like this. This is why spiderman 3 sucked, spiderman 4 fell off, and why they need to reboot it every 5 years for no reason had they not fucked up in the beginning. It's really simple, get a panel of nerds to come aboard who know the characters, and go from there. None of this zombieland shit, or how they tried to do the vultress.....

Amy Pascal Says Sony's Marvel Universe Exist in the Same Reality as the MCU

Spider-Man-Battles-Venom-062817-Dragonlord.jpeg

This whole thing began last week when Sony's Amy Pascal seemed to confirm that Venom and the other upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming spinoffs such as Silver and Black are, in fact, a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige clearly had a word with her about this, as she clarified her comments soon after by stating that although Homecoming is obviously set in the MCU, the spinoffs would not be... even though they will remain connected to Spidey's new solo flick.

Confused yet?

While interviewing both Pascal and Feige, Fandom once again asked the pair about the connection - or lack thereof - between the franchises. Here is Pascal's response:

"First, there is Spider-Man happily in the place where he’s supposed to be which is in the Marvel Universe. I think everything comes from that. This is the signpost, the tentpole, the signature and… the other movies that Sony’s going to make, in their relationship to this [MCU] Spider-Man, take place in this [separate Sony] world. Although you’re not going to see them in the Marvel Universe, it’s in the same reality.”

Feige then backed Pascal up by adding that her response is “the perfect answer”.

So basically, though Venom and friends do technically exist in the same reality as The MCU, we shouldn't expect to see any official Marvel Studios crossovers.

VENOM And Sony's Other SPIDER-MAN Spinoffs Do Exist In The "Same Reality" As The Marvel Cinematic Universe

hold on what?

Makes sense, sort of. Marvel has their own big picture/arc that they want to stick to. If Sony suddenly starts claiming that their movies are a part of that same arc then Marvels arc can get all kinds of plot holes (since Sonys movies arent factored in in the big picture because the studios arent working together except for this one Spiderman movie).

I this the same amy who had made flash thompson a skinny hindu?

Didn't tag anyone bec. this back-and-forth by Amy is getting tiresome. "World," "Marvel Universe," "Reality," Amy is just a bit clueless on the technical terms to use and that's why it's confusing a lot of the fans.

What Amy should say is that Venom, Black Cat, Silver Sable and the rest of the Sony spinoff movies exist in the same Marvel Cinematic Universe but they will not interact or be referenced with the rest of the MCU and vice versa, including Tom Holland's Spider-Man (for now).

Hahah yea the same "reality" one really got me.

So is she saying that they are in fact both movies created by humans that are living on earth and therefore they have some commonality.

VENOM Reportedly Will Feature Ann Weying and Ultimate Comic Book Origins

That Hashtag Show is back with some (possible) early character details for an upcoming release, and this time it's Sony's Spider-Man: Homecoming spinoff, Venom.

According to their latest video report, the movie will feature Ann Weying, who was a successful lawyer and Eddie Brock's ex-wife in the comics, and bonded with the venom symbiote when she was shot by Sin-Eater.

It's unknown if Weying will actually become She-Venom in the film, of course, but whichever incarnation of the character Sony winds up going with, they are apparently looking at actresses from the age of 25 to 32.

In addition, THS reckons fans shouldn't expect to see the classic 616 version of the Venom suit, as Brock will actually be sporting a version of the bio-suit that was introduced in the pages of Ultimate Spider-Man. If true, this does allow for a direct connection between Eddie Brock and Peter Parker, as the suit was created by their fathers.

The ramifications of Tom Hardy inhabiting Tom Holland's world is just sinking in for me. Like there's no way they're gonna play the obsessed Eddie Brock against poor 14 year old Peter Parker. His cameo in the VENOM film would have to be the very end of credits stinger, where we find out Peter's been watching Tom Hardy being Tom Fucking Hardy for ninety minutes, and he's urinating himself and whispering, "What the fuc-"

Riz Ahmed in Talks to Join Tom Hardy in Sony's VENOM Movie

OX23gyz.jpg

Riz Ahmed is looking to join another universe.

The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star is in talks to join Sony's Venom, the studio's first spin-off in a shared universe based on Spider-Man characters. Ahmed's character is being kept under wraps, but insiders say he would not be playing the villain Carnage, which Sony has been looking to cast. Sources say he was considered for the role before script changes were made.

Tom Hardy is starring in Venom as the title character, who in the comic books is a photographer named Eddie Brock who, when bonded with an alien symbiote, becomes Venom. He's been both a nemesis of Spider-Man, as well as an anti-hero and protector of the innocent.

Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer is directing Venom, which Sony hopes will be the the first in a series of movies based on Spider-Man characters. It is also developing the Silver Sable/Black Cat movie Silver and Black from director Gina Prince-Bythewood.

Sony is riding high when it comes to Spidey following Spider-Man: Homecoming, the studio's collaboration with Marvel Studios, which received a strong response and has grossed more than $675 million worldwide since opening last month. Venom is set to open Oct. 5, 2018.

Ahmed, who performs music under the name Riz MC, recently starred in the acclaimed HBO drama The Night Of, which scored him a Golden Globe nomination.

Meh.

Never cared for him.

You didn't like him in Nightcrawler?

I thought he was freaking great in that film.

He was good, But to be fair he was playing a naïve, slightly-slow klutz following orders from a psychopath, So he couldn't really do too much with the character.

He was great in The Night Of though, I don't get why that show gets hate.

Still curious to see who they will choose to play Carnage. I still predict they will choose Domhnall Gleeson, That guy has been blowing up lately and he has the right look and acting chops to pull it off.
