Weinstein: Fall of an Empire

Accused and settle out of court are two different things.

I've been accused of cheating, I didn't cheat, was able to prove it, but I was accused. Am I guilty?

This thread isn't about Trump and it makes people look stupid if the only way they can relate to something is constantly putting the shoe on the other political foot.
They kind of are the same thing. Neither is a conviction. People file frivolous lawsuits that are settled out of court all the time. Trump, with his own words, has admitted it. I'm not equating the two, one is a sleazy Hollywood producer, the other is the Commander in Chief.

Now for the record, I entered a derailed thread, but you can't pin this on shoeless. This thread was destined to be a damnation of the Marxist liberal elite leftists.

Some women showed up at the end of a presidential campaign, made a bunch of accusations, then fucked off when the election was over like nothing ever happened. You don't think that's suspicious?

Please read this email and tell me what you think is going on here.

https://wikileaks.org/dnc-emails/emailid/12803

It's called formulating a narrative.
There is no question this happens to rich men all the time for fame and/or money. Do you really think Trump is innocent of all these accusations?

Gotta go to work y'all. Have a good one.

I don't know. I have no narrative here. Trump is really the only one who knows, and if it's true, those women he grabbed will know. Maybe he lied and was just bragging but didn't grab shit. Like how Brian Williams did when he embellished his story. Point is, what does Harvey Weinstein's MULTIPLE settled out of court instances that have taken place over the last many years, have anything to do with Donald Trump and something he said?

Point is, this thread isn't about him.

This was originally posted in the WR and moved here, first linked story mentions him being a Hillary donor. Also unless you're not paying any attention right now the RW is trying to smear all Dems with Harv, because he's a big time donor and thus accepting his money means they've all condoned his actions all along. However it all falls flat when Donald Trump, the admitted pussy grabber in chief in in the WH and the same people faking outrage helped put him there.

I wasn't singling you out my man.

I'd agree with you if it was universally applied in situations where people settle out of court. But people assume Bill Cosby, Michael Jackson etc. despite settling out of court, are guilty.

In any case, enjoy work bud.

You have an illness bud. Might want to get some help.

I wonder what his wife Georgina Chapman thinks about this, if she is jealous that he doesn’t jack off into a plant for her to lo and behold?

But then again, I doubt very much she married him for his looks and cultivation.

Even funnier to watch Conservatives pretend to care about the issue after electing the current President.

While you clearly don't care at all, period (well, beyond how you can use it to attack conservatives and Trump, of course). How righteous of you...

And you're a rube if you don't think this was a political thread from the get-go.

Right Wing Tries to Paint Harvey Weinstein As a Democratic Problem

The right-wing noise machine has found a new talking point: The liberal elite is whitewashing the sins of Harvey Weinstein.

In a blockbuster New York Times report published on Thursday, several women detailed a decades-long pattern of inappropriate sexual conduct by Weinstein, the co-founder of Miramax, as well as his elaborate efforts to silence his victims by paying them to keep quiet. The accounts prompted more disturbing stories to emerge and raised questions about how Weinstein’s behavior, an open secret in some circles, could have been tolerated for so long. Commentators on the right are seeking to make the story a political liability for Democrats, since Weinstein has consistently supported the party over the years.

Republicans call for Dems to return donations from Harvey Weinstein

The Republican National Committee (RNC) on Thursday called on Democrats to return campaign donations from Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, following a report by The New York Times that he had been accused of sexual harassment by various women over the years.

"During three-decades worth of sexual harassment allegations, Harvey Weinstein lined the pockets of Democrats to the tune of three-quarters of a million dollars," RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel said in the statement. "If Democrats and the [Democratic National Committee] truly stand up for women like they say they do, then returning this dirty money should be a no brainer."

Republicans and Democrats war over Harvey Weinstein donations

Meanwhile, the president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., called Weinstein out for what he called his "amazing deflection statement," in which the producer said he would be channel his anger by working against the National Rifle Association and the president.

Trump Jr. summed it up as, "After 3 decades of rampant sexual harassment, I'm going to go after the NRA and Trump so it's ok... # Hollywood."

On Friday, Republicans continued to seize on Weinstein's liberal political ties, sending out an email highlighting politicians who had thus far failed to return Weinstein's money.

"During three-decades worth of sexual harassment allegations, Harvey Weinstein lined the pockets of Democrats to the tune of three-quarters of a million dollars," said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel in a statement. "If Democrats and the DNC truly stand up for women like they say they do, then returning this dirty money should be a no-brainer."

Democrats Rush to Return Donations From Harvey Weinstein

Republicans were harshly critical of lawmakers who had accepted Weinstein's donations, arguing that his behavior was well-known before the Times report was published.

"I don’t think that people are surprised," Tim Miller, a Republican operative who served as Jeb Bush's communications director in the 2016 election. "It seems like it was an open secret. Hollywood and the Democratic Party tend to look the other way when there’s misogynistic behavior exhibited by people who contribute to Democratic causes"

An email from the Republican National Committee circulating on Friday listed 29 Democratic politicians and entities that benefited from Weinstein's patronage.

"If Democrats and the DNC truly stand up for women like they say they do, then returning this dirty money should be a no-brainer," RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in the email.

Outside Republican groups said they intend to highlight the gap between Democrats idealistic statements on the treatment of women and the acceptance of donations from Weinstein.

Google "Harvey Weinstein" and "Democrat", "Republican" and you have dozens of stories on the issue.

Let me guess, his wife is sticking by him? Aka, she knew all along and has probably been sleeping around for years.

I wish someone would press charges. How hilarious would it be to see Harvey Weinstein imprisoned.

Politics has poisoned the minds of so many Americans.

It is actually rare to come across people who are truly principled.

well I guess it is how you take admissions.

I see a stark difference between lying to brag yourself up so you look better in your career and lying in a way that makes you look scummy and potentially criminal.

one is bragging and the other could be considered a form self mutilation. So I struggle with the 'well Brian Williams lied therefore Trump may have' jump.

To me Trumps statements are an admission of his actions. Actions he is unlikely to be held to account for but that he partook of regardless. He stated he did.

So while I would agree that is not as damning as the settlements that add a legal finality to admissions at the heart they are very similar. Both admit to doing the actions but one does so in a court with consequences.

It is still pretty sad watching liberal try-hards, trying way to hard to deflect the attention from the constant barrage of sexual predators that's coming from the political left.

Fox News called

Another one of you dumb fucking posts

Fair enough.

In any case, I would like to avoid discussing Trump further in this thread as it is about Weinstein.

Anybody else waiting to hear Mel Gibson's take on all of this?

What's annoying is this shit happens all the time in Hollywood, but it's only brought up when these elites piss off the rest of the elites.

Harvey is notorious for being a thug and having a bad personality but it's only now he is being called out for his behavior....

Seriously bud. I don't recommend WebMD either.
