Movies What's your favorite type of movie?

Porn.

Dystopian fiction.
(I enjoy those books very much as well.)

"Film Noir" and or crime

Especially if the film combines dark cinematography and dark themes, actions, depravity, etc, such as Se7en, Memento, The Crow, Pulp Fiction.

Sci fi

Mysteries

But mostly porn.

Rural noir ( winters bone, wind river)

Or cyberpunk stuff
Wind River is an awesome movie.

If I have an itch for a dark, disturbed, and kind of fucked up movie, Wind River is the perfect type of film to scratch that itch. Great combination of revenge and mystery and suspense.

I liked Mortal Engines. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

its more steampunk than cyberpunk but its close enough. thanks for the rec :)

Typically anything with a mix of crime/drama/noir flavor.

Second would be dark comedies.

If it will be accepted as an answer, anything with well developed characters.

That said...it seems to me that prison, football, baseball and submarines have a substantially higher batting average than most other subjects.

Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?

I figured that porn would be the first answer, no idea why it took this long for someone to say it...
Sherdog continues to let me down.

Superhero movies and Action/Comedy are my favorites.

And porn.

I enjoy movies that revisit the same scene over and over again and uncover new details every time. Groundhog day, Source Code, Free guy, Snake Eyes (1998), Vantage point.

A great under appreciated thriller that a lot of you may have missed is No Way Out with Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman. Highly recommend it.

Post apocalyptic movies.

A Boy and His Dog, The Road Warrior, The Road, I am Legend, etc.

I even like The Postman just for the setting and premise.

historical big battle
science fi
low budget stinkers
ridiculous over the top action
super hero
haunted house
slashers
witch craft
offbeat slice of life (like depatures)
