Why aren't there more dinosaur movies?

You're being pedantic, virtually every movie set in the future is in English
Pedantic is true,
But thatā€™s how you get a good movie.

Iā€™m not chasing blockbuster numbers here, Iā€™m in it for an actual good fucking movie. Not something that has great toy sales after release.

Here we are, all clamoring for movies to be set in a real life situations ā€œmake it look like real lifeā€.

And here you are just tossing a shit salad against the wall to see what sticksā€¦ ā€œitā€™s okay, theyā€™ll buy itā€.

Shame on you!

All good mang. I just want to see a motherfucker riding a triceratops trampling infantry
That would be tight!!

I think that would work better in like a LOTR type of flick. You can get away with that easier with that genre.

The premise is humans interacting with dinos, it's fictional. Just like Mad Max and Dune.

There's other shark movies besides Jaws. Why aren't there more dinosaur movies outside of the Jurassic Park franchise?
This Turok: Son of Stone animated movie from a few years back

I'd be down with an Apocalyptic take on the Jurassic Park premise.

Man creates dinos.
Inadvertently create prehistoric virus that kills lots of humans and ends civilization.

Fast forward 100s of years to movie setting where Dinos spread and repopulate.

Mad Max meets Jurrasic Park = Dinopocalypse.

Iā€™ve never seen those,

How far into the future are those movies supposedly set?

Had to nurse that wound!

That King Kong movie Peter Jackson did had probably the most badass dino action outside of Jurassic Park. Someone could make a movie like that about exploring a lost island, just without King Kong. You wouldn't even need dinosaurs, there's tons of prehistoric creatures to pull from.

Not a movie entirely about Dinos but Transformers: The Movie (1986) featured the Dinobots.
