Crime Why the hell can't we do something like this?

$$$$$$. For idiots on the right, anything like that and they'd be screaming Marxism or some other dumb bullshit like they were for the ACA.

They are proud of keeping millions of people in the country without healthcare.

because Republicans are pushing to fully privatize Medicare, which would mean giving more control over our country’s health care system to big corporations.

Free?

So the builders built the hospital for free, the materials used everywhere were free and the doctors are working without pay as well? God damn that's a lot of charity.

Maybe they randomly select one or two daily and sell their organs to offset costs.

It's a government subsidized, single-payer healthcare system, consistently ranked as one of the best in the world. So yes, just about everyone has access to routine medical care with no out of pocket expense.

So it's not free. You didn't really need to try and answer the rhetorical question to make that point.

*all kidding aside, in Canada we don't have this comprehensive check up

i go to a doctor, he tells me if anything needs follow up, if need be then i go to the follow up mri, xray, etc (so Canada is a bit reactive not proactive)

fortunately i haven't really had to do much follow up

i don't think the check up in the video is free, though

cant have this in a country with open borders and a robust welfare system that cuts monthly checks to a massive population of minorities and meth head whites.

The average income in South Korea is $37K USD. The average in the US in $59K USD. That's a difference of about $22K. I don't imagine this level of diagnostics costs more than a couple of grand and the basic diagnostic panels are usually completely covered by insurance.

Also, South Koreans are generally leaner and healthier, therefore the average person does not have as big of a burden on the rest of the healthcare system, which allows them to spend more on diagnostics rather than death prevention.

You should come here to Canada and enjoy our "free" health care.

Took my son to the emergency room a few months ago cause he needed stitches, waited 5 hours and never got attended. Oh, also not free, I get taxed heavily for it.

Also took him to a hospital in Cuba once (my son is half Cuban), they also have socialized health care... too bad they have none of the equipment needed to actually perform most of the work that is required.

In both cases I would have been happy to have the option of paying some money and getting it resolved, but no such option existed.

it's better to send this money to Ukraine and Israel.

You're not going to win an anecdote-off with healthcare horror stories from the US bud. 5 hour ER wait? Pfff. You say you would rather pay until your 2 day hospital stay or life saving surgery bankrupts you. You should stop while you're behind.

US healthcare system is jacked, we need to wipe the slate clean and reorganize it from the ground up.
