As I've gotten older, I've largely moved away from all genres except for competitive MP titles. Gears 3 is probably my favorite competitive MP of all time, but more and more I've changed focus to solely playing FPS (Gears 4 was possibly my biggest gaming disappointment ever). So here's my top 5. What's yours?
Honorable Mention: COD4. Whereas GRAW 2 laid the foundation for me becoming interested and then addicted to competitive MP, COD4 changed everything about how Interact with the hobby.
5. Modern Warfare 2: mostly because of the crew I played with. Also some great kill streaks
4. Black Ops 1: still my favorite killstreaks. Two words: Chopper Gunner. The commando is still in my top 5 gaming weapons ever.
3. Battlefield 4: the map variety, weapons and vehicles are the pinnacle of the BF series, imo. I was one of the best boat drivers there was.
2. Black Ops 3: many cod vets were putoff by the future setting, but the movement, specialists, maps and Treyarch's incredible talent made this the best COD to date. Crate system sucked butt though
1. Battlefield 1: game gets hate forn no reason. It's an incredibly well balances game with a great variety of weapons. Add in the codex, the improvements DICE has put in over time and that every map pack has been superb and this is as good as it gets. I've played almost nothing else for most of the last two years.
