How are immigrants stopping lawmakers from writing more labor rights?
Also the whole, they work for peanuts is a not true, there would be no incentive at all to work in subpar living conditions.
They work for peanuts in comparison to what they native worker
would have worked for, if it weren't for the fact that he can be replaced by an immigrant.
The original intention behind America, was to create an oligarchy of elite land-owners who can constantly bring in new workers as immigrants (originally slaves/indentured servants), to prevent themselves from being reliant on labourers as a class, the way that Europeans ultimately became. The American labour caste never became seen as valuable, because they were always seen as replaceable, through immigration.
Every generation of American blue-collar workers, except perhaps today, was brain-washed into thinking that their lack of worth to the society was simply the normal state of affairs. Because the American elite caste managed to invent a system of immigration which allowed for a highly competitive pool of labourers, except in the post WW2-era of decreased immigration, when the society briefly grew more equal between the classes (which it hadn't been in the prior eras of slavery/indentured service, and now in the era of mass immigration).
Where would you deport them now?
To where they came from.
Afghans are not illegaly immigrating for economic reasons.
Yes they are. Many Afghans might live in more peaceful lands than a South American. It all depends on the region.
Nevertheless, many people immigrate to live in a region with more security and stability than their place of origin. Having a job and making money is not necessarily an incentive for them. Even if they make less or roughly the same amount, they are encouraged to stay because of the relative stability compared to their origin country.
This is demonstrably false.
No it isn't.
Illegal immigrants don't vote. Immigrants do vote and so do their off-spring. Mostly in favour of social security, which is fine. Unfortunately, mass immigration is one of the greatest enablers of economic inequality, and the greatest deterrent to having better labour rights/social security in a society.
I quite frankly dont understand your point.
"Deport them all in mass now while they are working and contributing, because you may need to deport them in mass down the road when automation makes their jobs less relevant".
If you are going to deport them in mass, it would be better if you do so when they have run their economic value to the nation isnt.
I haven't said that anybody should be deported in mass. I have said that illegal immigration, and mass immigration as a whole, needs to be prevented by stronger immigration control.
Their jobs are already less relevant. We are reaching the stage where they become completely irrelevant. And then we have created an under-class of people who do not have a function to their society, while their origin countries suffer. You can keep excusing it but we all know that it is true. There is no benefit to modern-day immigration into the West, except the selfish benefit to the immigrant.
The host country no longer requires such a labour force, while the origin country loses theirs.
