Man, Jones is not Gane. Francis showed nothing remotely close to having wrestling on par with Jon Jones. Were we watching the same fights against Stipe & Gane, because his wrestling looked good, but far from great.

Jon Jones would keep him at kicking range or clinching range, a la Francis v Gane. And Jon Jones would show you all that there are levels to grappling.

Ngannou is a terrifying match-up for anyone. Usually dudes with that power fall in love with it and become very 1-dimensional. Between the Gane and Fury fights, Ngannou has shown skill and the ability to adapt on top of that power.

While Jon could have won in the wrestling department, Ngannou has proven he knows how to wrestle and he's huge.

You’re comparing one of Francis’s best showings to Jon Jones’s worst. His cardio looks improved and he looked more well rounded in his last MMA bout.

Francis took Gane down, and Gane either got up, survived the round, or did both while looking awkward (in regards to grappling skills). Logical reasoning says that Gane would be more prepared for grappling following that match and Jones looked levels better him grappling. Jones outwrestled DC & Chael in ways otherwise unheard of but Francis’s size will be the difference??? That’s your difference maker?
