It seems like the defense tried to prove that he wasn't trying to interfere with Nancy Pelosi's official duties as a member of congress, which would make some of the charges against him invalid. A great way to do that would have been to argue the guy was just a sex worker who got in an argument with the husband, if that was actually true. But it wasn't. They acknowledged the guy was motivated by political beliefs.

And as a part time security guard I did the same damn job. None of the houses/people I guarded got assaulted. And none of the clients I guarded were of Pelosi status. What info was being withheld from the public in an ongoing investigation?
Everything was released including body cams, video of him breaking in and the affidavits.

We learned the attacker was a right-wing conspiracy theorist that brought zip ties, tape, rope, etc, and wanted to break Nancy's kneecaps, etc. The thread went on for over 100 more pages with chuds insisting it was a gay sex tryst gone wrong. I read ALLLLL of this also. The body cam footage and security cam footage was WAY late. And that was the solid evidence.
