Bambu Labs X1 Carbon new 3D printer is a game changer possibly?

idex would be dope, but I doubt I could justify an upgrade for multi-material printing in my living room. And it's just a lot more that can go wrong and need servicing. What I really want is a cheap, decent quality SLS printer. closest right now is probably still...

So they can make the metaverse this photorealistic now?

smart of them to demo it using Lex and Zucc, two people who already have uncanny valley energy in real life, these digital avatars are only slightly more off-putting than the real thing

Bambu Labs X1 Carbon new 3D printer is a game changer possibly?

I upgraded from a prusa mini+ to a bambu lab x1c and I absolutely love the thing. Outside of being lazy and not drying out extremely hygroscopic filaments like carbon fiber nylon I've not had a single print fail, and the speed compared to the mini is night and day. It's also so much less hassle...

Tech Gaming Hardware discussion (& Hardware Sales) thread

it's a bit of an investment if you don't know you have a use for it tbh. either money wise to get one that just works out of the box, or time wise to figure out all the way something like a very cheap ender will fail on you. If you're interested I can 100% recommend seeing if there's a maker...

What to do with a Raspberry Pi 4?

pihole is so nice. Can absolutely recommend installing pi-vpn (my preference is wireguard rather than openvpn) alongside it. I have my phone connected home through wireguard at all times so I get the DNS cleaning from pihole on the go, makes the internet about 80% less annoying on mobile. I also...

I've been thinking about making myself one of these for a little while now https://www.instructables.com/Azeron-Game-Pad-DIY-Under-35/ They're pretty neat and not too hard to make if you have a 3d printer and a soldering iron. Cool thing about printing your own is that it's pretty simple to...

    Multiplatform BALDUR'S GATE III

not had time to play multiplayer yet, but I have a buddy I played through DivOS 1 & 2 with, and they were both great for co-op. My work schedule is just a bitch to work around.

Multiplatform Official Lies of P (Pinocchio Souls) Discussion

I still can't believe this isn't a Spiders game. Feels like it should be some mid-budget eurojank like steelrising, but it's not, and it surprises me every time I look up the developer.

Multiplatform Which decade has the best video games?

same one I was whining about taking forever to get the parts for last time I was here like 3 years ago :) little cm nr200p case, 5950x, 64gb ram and a 3080. probably gonna be another couple years before I bother upgrading, I'll probably upgrade some of my server stuff first tbh, that stuff's...

Finally got the PCBs,controllers, hotswap sockets and smd buttons ordered for this thing, got the parts printed already, now it's just a waiting game I guess. https://github.com/jfedor2/flatbox My old ass left wrist is not a fan of yanking on a fightstick anymore it seems, had to quit labbing...

Multiplatform Which decade has the best video games?

To be fair, there were plenty of uninspired shovelware, dogshit ports, buggy messes and just terrible games in the 90s too. I'm pretty sure I played most of them. Ever play mega man for DOS? That shit will damage you in ways you can't comprehend. Right now there's endless good shit. There's...

Lots of Mobile games are garbage

I think it was David Jaffe who said, talking about free to play games, that for most of them it doesn't feel like you're playing a game, it feels like you're playing a business model. That's doubly true for mobile games, both major platform's stores are fucking cesspits.

Is Framerate a big deal to you in video games?

Of course, most tvs not doing high refresh rate is a big factor too.

Is Framerate a big deal to you in video games?

Nah. If console rendering power increased 10x next time around they'd still target 60 or even 30 for most games, I'd bet money on it. Frame rates doesn't show well in marketing materials, lots of fancy shader effects and stuff does.

Microsoft acquires Zenimax Entertainment for $7.5 billion

Yeah, game pass is really strong. I like that they put a bunch of pc-ass pc games on the game pass for windows. Like Crusader Kings 3 and hearts of iron 4 and stuff. It even got me playing football manager again. And now that they're adding the EA subscription to it for no extra charge, and when...

Is Framerate a big deal to you in video games?

I have a 160hz monitor and I will drop resolution and quality to get 100+fps in most games. Depends though, if I'm playing something like pillars of eternity or whatever it doesn't matter, but for fast paced action games, frame rate is so much more impactful than bumping up shadow quality or...

Tech Gaming Hardware discussion (& Hardware Sales) thread

You want to run your fclk at 1:1:1 if at all possible, so 4k ram is gonna be rough. There's also less mobo support for those kits, and they're expensive. I'd just go for 3600 with as tight timings as you can find. Best I could do was a set of ballistix 3600 at cl 18, literally the only 2 dimm...
