No the ACC commissioner along with the Big 10’s and PAC 12’s made a “gentlemen’s agreement. And they were the 3 votes that stopped the 12 team playoff starting this year.

Which was unanimously supported by all member schools.

If not for 'The Alliance,' college football's muddled playoff picture would be much clearer this year

Alabama lobbed a wrench into the four-team playoff discussion with its win over Georgia on Saturday. That both teams could possibly miss out on the playoff this season is a result of the disastrous 'Alliance.'
