Oddly, i dont have it in my library but ive seen this movie lots of times.

There isnt anything wrong with it. The subtlety, the pace, the grimy look, vulgarity, slight gore, and an unexpected ending, which spawned the direct sequel Exorcist III.

My favorite parts of the movie are the tiny fucked up moments. The Ouija board moving on its own, Reagan pissing, candle flame, telekinesis, and the desecration of the statues.

The theme song is memorable but you know what plays when scary shit is happening? Silence.

Yes, and it was surprisingly good considering it was a basic TV show. I was surprised by what they were able to get away with and I'm looking forward to the next season.

Don't go in expecting too much and you will be pleasantly surprised I think.

I caught that too and went to look up the release date and saw it was released on December 26th. That took balls to release the day after Christmas and to me shows they knew they had some good shit.

I watched this short doc a while ago and it's interesting to see what it was like at ground zero of The Exorcist.

Thanks for sharing. REC indeed an excellent horror and likewise to The Thing. I love Exorcist III as well, it's the one with the detective and priest right? It started decently but the internal "screams" of the Father in the cell was excellent. I'm okay with it's ending though.

I understand Hell Raiser and NoEM are also classics, but they are more towards gore/torture porn subgenre. I watch these as well but would not consider them in my top 10 best horrors til date. Similar to modern take on this subgenre, Hostels, Saw are all good horror additions but I can never take them seriously. Basically just in for the thrill and blood.
