Edwards would make plenty of money as the co-main on the UK card under Aspinall's first title defense. They can easily stack that card with fighters from the UK and surrounding areas. Besides Shavkat is the other main option right now and it's not like he's some big money fight.
 
It's his own damn fault. He's the one who started the siege of Harrogath and trying to fuck around with the Worldstone did him no favors. He should have made it count when he and Diablo were 2v1 against Tyrael.

So this business is all about making money. But the reason they can't book Leon vs Belal for any random main event is because that won't pull in any money. And Leon should be held off for a main event because he deserves it, even though he won't pull any money himself either.

Something seems like self-defeating logic in there
 
What's the deal with the July Manchester card? Tom Aspinall will also be fighting and it's for a UK crowd, so surely Belal's negative PPV effect can be mitigated quite a bit. Leon's already been super vocal too that he's working to get on that card.

Both the UFC and Leon are at fault. Leon downplayed Belal, has done nothing to promote himself or keep the division moving, If Leon truly wanted to be an active champ the UFC would've already matched him up with Belal because they wouldn't have a better option. Unfortunately 175 is stuck with a champ who's content to go AWOL for 8 months to a year.

Belal doesn't have a "negative" PPV effect, he's just one of the vast majority of UFC fighters that don't move the PPV needle. People dislike Belal so fake reasons are being created to deny him a shot. In reality Belal vs Leon will sell just as much as Belal vs Shavkat. Nobody knows Shavkat to the degree that he'll meaningfully move the needle. PPV buys is a bogus reason to deny Belal a title shot.
 
Leon is stalling to push Belal past the WW cursed age of 36

Belal's birthday is July 9th, so unless the fight takes place within the next 78 days, Leon will have successfully arranged things so Belal will be fighting at an age at which no WW or lower weight has ever won the title

So let's not get dredged down on 'feeling' when it comes to booking Belal as a challenger cuz this business is all about money and buys. Now Suga gets buys, but let's get deep into our feelings as to why Leon doesn't. See, as a black guy from the UK, Leon is only hampered because of racism. But Palestinian descendant Belal doesn't have any race related hurdles.
