Never thought of it like that - but that sounds so absolutely correct.

I used to work with this, "shitty person" - from Panema - highest gay population in the America's.

He was a shameless piece of shit - tried to turn me gay, every fucking chance he got.

Well - another dude I worked with - he succeeded in turning him gay.
They had a gay experience - the other dude normally wasn't gay - but couple days later, killed himself.

The company knew what went down - so they sent the "shitty person", to work in isolation from then forward.

To this day, that ugly, sick piece of shit, trying to canoodle me with braces on his 30 year old teeth (said his boyfriend liked them for oral), scars my memory.

There's a whole lot of ambivalence amongst the hetrosexual population also though.

Jack is gay; Ennis just never knew anything but meanness until he met Jack.
 
Heath Ledger spitting on his own dick for lubrication to insert it into Gyllenhaal's ass was too much for me. Otherwise, it was an okay movie.
 
I've debated watching this for years. Gyllenhaal and Ledgder were my two favorite actors of the time and it seems to get a lot of love by people who aren't necessarily in to that sort of thing. It was gay just before it became accepted and embraced, the movie probably helped move that along. Seems to me that there's probably some real merit to the movie and it's not just mindless softcore porn. My girlfriend saw it though and says it's garbage, the relationship is based on nothing but sex which wouldn't say anything of value if true. But she tends to miss almost all subtext when watching movies so there may be a lot that she missed.
