No it wouldn't so it seems like a good idea to reduce not only US Reliance on oil but be a leader on transitioning others as well

Not gonna happen, Saudi Arabia knows the Petro-dollar agreement is the sole reason why we have a strategic alliance with them.

If that agreement is broken, U.S-Iran relations will suddenly warms up overnight.
 
the petrodollar helps fund the military industrial complex. they'll do anything within their power to maintain the status quo
