Dana white also downplayed Silva when he retired even though he suckered Silva sign a ten fight contract
except he beat the guys at their own game. that's special. it's one thing to takedown a striker and beat him on the ground, or force grapplers to stand but he did the exact opposite and not just won but decisively beat them.
You nailed the exact reason Dana doesn’t think Fedor is top tier. Fedor told him to buzz off. Dana’s ego doesn’t allow him to be objective after that. He has to get a dig in like a 18 year old girl with a boy who said no thanks. He dominated and beat all the guys in pride who all went on to win belts and have successful careers in the UFC. So how isn’t he one of the greatest of all time. Why did Dana try so hard to sign a guy who he didn’t think was one of the best
Nemkov saying the traveling to multiple different countries to try and get a visa severely cut into Fedor’s training time, and also Fedor was nursing a back injury… and while that could be true, the problem is it’s always true for Fedor these days. If it wasn’t his back, it’d have been his knees, if not those then it’d be his broken hands, or his fucked up nose…he’s physically just falling apart. The send off was great, it would have been better if he won. I feel like he may not have really trained like he needed to for this fight, he didn't really seem like he was in fighting shape. Didn't really seem like he was training seriously.
IMO he lost to Arona in RINGS and Nog second fight... What was not a shame but he was gifted some decisions...He dominated and beat all the guys in pride who all went on to win belts and have successful careers in the UFC. So how isn’t he one of the greatest of all time. Why did Dana try so hard to sign a guy who he didn’t think was one of the best
