Yea because parents torturing their beloved children is so common, it's the majority right?
Kids are more likely to fuck up and blame it on parents imo if we are getting into unlikely and improbable scenarios
Common sense
Societal and environmental factors play a huge part in kids fucking up. The best parenting doesn't make a difference for a lot of kids when they're just dealt a bad hand.
But once you take away that it's almost always down to less than stellar parenting when kids fuck up.
And it's parents that are far more likely to pass the blame. Parents are adults (usually lol), and society assumes adults are the mature ones. They generally are, but when things go awry with their kids so many parents just try to blame whatever else they can rather than admit it comes back to their parenting. Society as a whole then supports this because it brings into question their parenting as well.
It's easier for parents to just blame something else that's readily available, like popular culture, technology, etc. The finger gets pointed towards violent video games/movies and bad social skills due to things like facebook, reddit, and even the ease of mobile phones. If those things are the result of a kid fucking up, then part of being a good parent would be identifying that and controlling it, but that's a lot more work lol.
They make a big deal about finding violent games and movies on lots of murderers, and they make more noise about that then when they find out those people were abused and what not growing up. The media knows the public don't want to hear about that stuff because it starts to reflect badly on them as a whole. It's way easier to just blame violent media, even if no studies ever really support the blame.
