Not all states are the same, but in OH if you have a carry permit, you can't carry if you're going to consume one drink that night. No alcohol. This was a bar district, so only a designated driver would be legal to carry in that instance. Even with a CCW permit. Each state is different and some it's like driving (certain BAC limit), but in OH no drinking if you're carrying. Not one drop. As far as people being able to shoot back or defend themselves in Dayton at 1AM at a bar.

I'm just seeing the news and getting up to speed, but someone just reported this guy in Dayton also had ear protection on in addition to body armor and was still taken out by the police in 60 seconds. Thousands were still in the bar district, so this would have been much uglier if he had more time. But what is with the ear protection yesterday and if this report is accurate, early today? That's very odd. Not that these guys aren't very odd to start with, but that's top-shelf odd.

When every American family had a gun, and it was part of every day life these things happen. Simply owning a gun doesn't make you want to kill.

It's something deeper in society that has happened in the last 20 years. Any guesses what it is?

A better guess would be how to stop it. And murcan culture going back further than 20 years definitely plays a role in it as well. It's not something that will be stopped soon because the underlying causes are in murcan culture and nobody wants to change that.

Some guys get so used to shooting at the range they can’t shoot without wearing it without accuracy going out the window. Noise causes flinching I assume.
