Disappointing news: Floyd denies talk of UFC deal

Poor fans who actually thought he was going to do it. Lol. Come on, he ain’t fighting in the octagon, unless he is allowed to bring opponent for himself, a mediocre striker with zero ground game.

I give him a 50-50 chance against the explosive Bethe

He looked like an idiot.
After watching that I came to the conclusion that MMA fighters cant fight.
How can you call yourself a fighter and you cant throw a punch for shit?
Boxing is light years away from fighting.

A 28 year old Floyd would run through any division between BW/LW. The gap in athleticism is too wide, his visual intelligence is unmatched in human cockfighting
Until somebody decided to take him down or kick him. If he could keep it standing he could be something

Oi. The silliness is almost painful. As a pure boxer, he gets shot down and smashed quick. Or headkicked. Whatever

Floyd is the A side. He doesn't need to come to MMA.

He owned it and made more scratch than the entire UFC roster has, probably in decades, in a single light evening of work.

So, I mean...

Plenty of vastly inferior athletes and fighters to Floyd Mayweather have taken up MMA at a later age and been successful in a short space of time. You've even got guys who didn't have any combat sport experience prior to taking up MMA in their mid to late twenties, who only went into MMA because they couldn't cut it in more mainstream sports, who then went on to do well.

So the idea that an elite level athlete like Mayweather, who is a natural fighter and already an Olympic medalist and all time great in a key area of MMA, would be doomed to fail is actually pretty stupid. Not saying he could walk in as a pure boxer and win, but he wouldn't need years and years of cross-training like some people seem to think.

He's 41...
I think they could make some serious money if they did a striking only type match with him vs anyone

Am I the only one thinking this was a move by the UFC to get some hype while in negotiations for a new tv deal?

Floyd hates brain trauma, there's no way he would even consider it.

Now Dana knows how Woodley & Nate feel....<Moves>

Must be zuffa boxing rather than mma.

"While he admits the UFC did approach not long ago, and he could make a fortune by agreeing to a multi-fight deal with them"

No one is seriously going to offer Floyd a multi-fight MMA deal.
It would be a single fight only, cause he would be buried afterwards.
quadruple quarter pounder.
Simply called "the pounder"

What's it called in Amsterdam?

Probably negotiations. Mayweather is smart business man, his MMA record doesn't mean crap to him. If money is there, he can beat the crap out of fighters on the feet until he gets taken down and choked out. If he makes 100's of millions or the billion dollars he was talking about then he's in. He's not stupid.
