Honestly would be a great matchup for O'Malley, you need someone just as technical on the feet who is a little more rangy to beat Topuria. Topuria has some kicks which could give Sean some fits though.

Ilia was saying before he was ever champion he won't defend against anyone in the division as they don't deserve it. In the next breath he says a Volk rematch might be what happens but they need new faces. He refused to fight anyone in the FW division so how are there going to be new faces? He has fought only Volk, Emmett & Bryce Mitchell as far as ranked FWs in the UFC.

O'Malley at least beat a former champ in Yan, as well as Sterling to win the title. If he beats Chito he is still only 1-1 against him will have only fought 3 of the top 10 BWs with a 3-1 record against them. That doesn't scream dominant champion.

Maybe they should book Raquel Pennington vs Jessica Andrade for the vacant Women's FW title too?

What's changed, Ilia didn't do anything that he hasn't done in all his other fights, he cut the cage off, got in close and landed a combination, I think the whole point is that Sean thinks he can use his footwork and reach to prevent that exact scenario. He would probably last longer than Volk to be honest lol
