GLORY 87:
4-man Heavyweight Tournament & Lightweight Title Fight

GLORY 87 takes place August 19 live from the Rotterdam Ahoy arena in the Netherlands and promises to be another thrilling night on the GLORY kickboxing calendar.

A four-man one-night heavyweight tournament will take centre stage with the winner punching his ticket into the historic GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix this December for a chance to win a life-changing $500,000.

The four participants are WAKO and World Games gold medalist Bahram Rajabzadeh (62-1, 56 KO), former GLORY light-heavyweight title challenger Mohamed Amine (29-5, 16 KO) (MMA: 6-2), Dutch giant and former Enfusion heavyweight champion Martin Terpstra (21-5, 11 KO), and the bruising power puncher Uku Jürjendal (18-7, 14 KO).
Bahram Rajabzadeh will face Mohamed Amine in the semi-finals, with Martin Terpstra facing off against Uku Jürjendal. Winners will meet in the tournament final and main-event of the evening.

A huge international title fight will feature in the co-main event as reigning & defending GLORY lightweight champion Tyjani Beztati (24-4, 9 KO) will put his title on the line against RISE, SHOOT BOXING and KNOCK OUT champion Kaito Ono (51-6-1, 22 KO).
Beztati has emerged as one of the top fighters in his division thanks to recent title defenses against Petch, Koprivlenski, and Jauncey. Now he goes up against Japanese star Kaito Ono, who's riding an eighteen-fight unbeaten streak.
Both fighters are 25 years old and this contest could very well determine the best in the world at lightweight.

In addition, former GLORY welterweight champion Murthel Groenhart (69-26-3, 40 KO) (MMA: 3-0) goes up against rising German star Cihad Akipa (49-11, 18 KO) (MMA: 6-0) in an old-fashioned “Experience vs. Youth” affair, and Michael Boapeah (15-3-1, 7 KO) takes on Sergej Braun (43-12, 27 KO) in a rematch of their electric fight at GLORY Collision 4 last year.
Rising Dutch star “The Diamond” Jan Kaffa (19-3, 7 KO) will open the main-card against Morocco’s Mohamed El Hammouti (7-1, 4 KO), in a bout between two bright prospects.

Prelims:
Imad Hadar (23-2, 9 KO), training partner of UFC heavyweight star Ciryl Gane, will take on Bartosz Muszyński (26-3), with both fighters aiming to secure their first victory inside the GLORY-ring. Lastly, a reserve bout for the heavyweight tournament will kick-off the card as Serbia’s Nikola Filipovic (10-2, 6 KO) takes on the debuting Romanian Cristian Ristea (44-10, 21 KO) in what should be an explosive start to the night.

Well, those mentioned participants for the 4-man heavyweight tournament turn out to be fake news spread by @Broadcast on the Dutch Mixfight Forum.
Here’s the real tournament:

Looks solid! I reckon they’ll matchup the LHW’s and HW’s against each other in the first fight

I have feeling it could be Amine...but ill need some time with this before choosing.. but his style of fighting is good for grand prix's ...but is he under sized...

The Azerbani guy looked unstoppable vs Tavares, looked a lot better than in his LHW fight.
Would not be suprised to see him knock out at least one person.
He looked great, and he also did last week when he defeated Mike’s Gym heavyweight Moribah Kosiah

Again, with a headkick knockout in the first round

Two more fights got announced:
Cihad Akipa will move up in weight to fight Murthel Groenhart, and Jan Kaffa will fight Mohamed El Hammouti

Seems to have a strong check hook and his I like his very basic but effective combinations ending with the low kick.
He is on the smaller side so would be interesting to see how he does against the bigger HWs.

Yeah he’s really good.
His first “heavyweight-test” in GLORY wasn’t a real HW-test though imo, so there’re still a few questionmarks for Bahram regarding fighting at heavyweight.
Tavares came in out of shape. I’m 100% sure Luis would’ve been a tougher test and put on a better fight if he decided to just come in with his LHW-body instead of doing the kinda dirty bulk he went through.
Anyways, I’m pretty high on Rajabzadeh and I favor him to win the tourney, Martin Terpstra being his toughest opponent stylistically

Rematch time.
I wonder who’ll take the win this time around.
Last time out Sergej Braun put on a pretty dominant performance on Michael Boapeah, but the latter seems to have improved a lot in his next two fights

Its a good card but Ahoy is a big place. Dont see this card selling out. Also being the second card in the same place in a row might be a bit of an overkill. Not sure if ill go.

Would be nice to see some rivals card again as well.

It looks like they’re not going to use the whole venue, more like half the venue like they did with GLORY 85
