News Guaranteed purses and bonuses for UFC 298, as filed with the CSAC (via LA Times)

Henry making $150K is ridiculous.Paulo, Rob, Ilia, fucking Dern are making more than him.

No wonder Cejudo took another fight.

Maybe that's why the UFC surpassed all boxing promotions and MMA is becoming more popular than Boxing, if it isn't already. There's a lot less ducking in MMA.
No it hasn't. UFC PPVs don't even sell like that anymore.

Not only that boxing has expanded with its freak show fights.

I'm willing to do a 2 week ban bet that 2023 boxing events did better on average on PPV than UFC.

Always enjoy the guys in these discussions talking about fighters getting more than disclosed pay even though we have access to huge amounts of Zuffa's past financials and know exactly what they bring in and what they pay.

A World champ in a sport where she probably made as much the fighters on a 10k/10k contract on this card

Yeah bjj doesn’t pay much, but she makes bank with her own jits school and seminars. The ufc pays you well if you’re already famous in another sport and you cross over. Look at Holly Holm, she was a boxing champ who crossed over to mma and the ufc had to pay up to get her.

Volk is one of the greatest champions ever in his prime and he's only getting 750k? Even mid level boxers make millions fighting nobodies. Pathetic even if he gets some ppv bonus.
thats just simply not true/. who would you consider a mid level boxer thats making millions ?

"Backroom bonus".

Fortunately now that the books are open from the class action lawsuit, we know the backroom bonus story is complete BS.

The UFC is paying out an average of 15% of revenue now. That means the promoter is keeping 85%. Absolutely wild.

These guys are paid peanuts and we're spending $80/card with all the cash going directly to the promoters. Image how good these lineups would be if they got a reasonable split of the take.

If your fighting main card of a ppv 150k should be minimum. If you co main 500k min and Main 1 mil minimum. That's not alot considering g the UFC has overtaken boxing as far as ppvs go

John Ryder, Gabe Rosado, Anthony yarde, Joe Joyce, Matthew macklin

Daniel Dubois is another one but I know he was gifted a title shot so meh but he's mid af too.

Dern is nowhere near as accomplished as Henry and is making more. It has not one thing to do with the gender of either fighter mentioned.

How many times have you had this imaginary argument in your head? And are you winning?
Of course not. But your pay is mostly related to your value to the company. How many eyes do you bring in, even if part of that has nothing to do with your actual fighting ability.

when has gabe rosado ever fought a nobody lol ././his resume is the whos who of boxing for the past decade

Mackenzie Dern isn't overpaid, everyone else is just criminally underpaid.
Absolute truth. Even Dern should be making 50% more and everyone else should be making 2x - 3x what they're making. I know Volk gets PPV points but as a world champion and main event-er he should be getting $2-$3 million base easily. The damn gate alone will be like $12 -$15 million.

But how is dana going to splash 250k on a night of blackjack?

Bruh. You're not being realistic.

Both fighters in the early prelims opening bout both making more than Ian Garry is pretty funny. Especially Andrea Lee's who's lost 3 in a row and 6 of her last 8 fights.

Do that for 20 years and then what?

You better save a bunch of money to invest once you are forced to retire around 40 y/o

And how many of these guys are going to even approach a 20 year career?

There are guys on the main card who are making sub-100k, and whose careers could end in a few years.
