Have you ever been fired/lose a job for something stupid?

I used to be a manager of a customer service call center. I was 26, single, and most of my employees were females between the ages of 21-30.

I had sex with three of them over a course of one year. Unfortunately, one of the chicks was married and her husband found out and told my employer who fired me.

None of what happened was on the clock so I still feel I got hosed.
 
When I was 16 I worked at a movie theater concession stand. One time in front of customers my manager caught me and another employee sword fighting with brooms.

Didn't even get written up.
 
I college I worked as a busboy at Carrabbas. Like an hour before my shift my parents called me and told me my childhood dog died. I went into work anyway even though I was a wreck. I dropped a bin of glasses and broke them. My boss yelled at me. Then like a hour later I dropped another and he started yelling at me and I threw my shit in his face and walked out. I ran into a bunch of the wait staff at a bar later that night and they all thought I was a hero. The boss was an uberdouche.

Common practice these days. They don't want to take the chance that you will get injured or damage something. I've heard of places firing someone just for looking for another job. They often have a manager escort you as you pick up your things and leave.
 
I sprained my ankle and couldn't walk, was fired for not being able to walk.

Oh yea they made sure to escort me out to the parking lot after cleaning out my locker lol
 
How does one get fired? All you have to do is show up and you’re ahead of 90% of people
 
Been fired twice. Once for good reason but I'm sharing anyway. At a valet job when I was 22. Another valet and myself ran head on into each other and totaled both cars. He was coming up a ramp and didn't honk and I was about to go down the ramp and I didn't honk. He was in the middle of the ramp but they didn't care. Luckily both cars were old civics. Second time at a design company that wasn't hiring but I had a friend that knew the owner and he got me an interview. The owners right hand guy hated me from day one for no fucking reason and fired me a few months in. I designed and printed pamphlets for a company and printed a thousand of them with a typo.
 
If refusing to acknowledge that the douchebag good for nothing lazy piece of shit morning guy was my boss because of seniority and someone quitting and disregarding his requests in changes to procedure, as I was the one executing said procedures, is a stupid reason to get fired that color me stupid.
 
I called in to tell them I wouldn't be able to make it to the mandatory meeting. When asked why by the supervisor I said I wasn't really feeling up to it. He said he wasn't so sure it was going to work out. Me: "Oh. Alright I guess." I heard they cleaned house over there him included anyway.
 
A company I used to work for was well on its way to going bankrupt since the owners were seriously embezzling shit to the point where our paychecks bounced. A group of us got fired for forgetting to lock the building and the place got emptied out. Counsel has advised me to plead the 5th regarding any connection between the aforementioned events.
 
Not fired, but I did get threatened with termination for turning in a resume without an application.

the only rime ive ever been fired was from a call center. I viewed it as it was such a horrible job that i wasn’t about to leave 5 minutes early to make sure i was on time and sure enough i was late more than the alloted number of times.
 
Nah but I walked out on one of jobs for something stupid.

One of the many "bosses" working there had a problem with me drinking water from my bottle a lot, which required me to step in the back for 5 seconds before returning to the floor. After a brief argument with her she said I needed a doctor note to show I needed to drink the water I was taking down.

LOL! I'm not going to the doctor to get a note for why I need to drink water.

They also have it to where they tell you when you can go on break and after that altercation I was working an extended period of time before they finally put me on one.

Lol I couldn't wait until my break to walk out on that fucking place.
 
I got fired 3 months after the fact. I worked at a Red Robin, and went into the Beer cooler to change a keg, and a new girl followed me in to do inventory. She asked me if being in this little room in the middle of a busy restaurant turned me on. I said sure, and she proceeded to give me a BJ, while all the guests are waiting for the Bud light tap to start working. She got fired a sort time later, but she told another girl what happened, so it was a rumor. The women manager tried multiple times to fire me, but I was actually a good employee. You make decent money as a bartender, and she couldn't out right fire me, because there was no proof I did anything wrong, so she said she was transferring me to a bus boy. I refused, so she said I was fired then for insubordination. I hated working there, so no big loss, and I told her she better hose out the beer cooler, cause who knows what has happened in there.
 
I worked a shit labor job where some asshole literally charged me with intent to put his hands on me. Had a guy witness the whole thing. I even warned the guy to stop getting close to me. They fired me for defending myself. Told me I should have ran away
 
Back in my heyday, I was the assistant manager for a restaurant near a college I was attending. (UW).

I had access to the liquor supply and all the keys to the building .

So after hours , myself and some of the employees (most of them college students ) would go in the basement storage area , drink some of the liquor and smoke .

And this group got bigger and bigger ...pretty soon half of the staff attended these speak easy after work social get togethers. .

Long story short, I befriended a kinda loner esque character ...he seemed really cool and in need of some friends.

So I invite him to our little after hours party.

He accepts ...but he doesn't show up.

Long story short , he reports me to the manager , general manager and district manager .

We all got fired the next day.

I never misread someone so bad in my entire life .
