It used to be frowned upon to attack the legs. I'm very happy this is no longer the case and more leg oriented techniques are being explored.

When I first started training(back in 2008) I had been wrestling a lot, and the guys at the BJJ gym would get pissed at me for going for a leg and shit talk saying that people who use leg locks are bad at jiu jitsu and can't pass guard. Now it's almost funny how many dudes go into leg heavy positions. More and more gyms are bringing in the techniques. It's a cool transition to witness.
