Media Jamie Varner not a fan of Laura Sanko's commentary

She's better than the majority of the commentators and puts in a lot more work studying the fighters and their strengths and weaknesses. Varner's coming off as very dumb, I know he's had CTE issues and I think this is part of what's going on with his warped opinion.

Pretty low IQ commenting from Varner. Sucks because I'm actually a fan of his and thought he was a hell of a lot better fighter than what people realized.

I agree with this 100%, he was a much better fighter than he gets credit for but his comments here are just totally wrong. Sanko does her homework on the fighters and has way more incite into what the fighters strengths and weakness are than almost every other commentator the UFC has other than maybe Felder.

The idea that commentators should be fighters is proven wrong constantly by the initials DC. Also, by the fucking history of commentators largely not being fighters.

The idea that she's "trying hard" is dumb if she's usually right, which she is. It's an empty complaint, because it's the obvious thing TO do is try. NOT trying is the problem, not trying. It rings of "Oh I don't like that this person I don't want to be knowledgeable is actually kinda knowledgeable," and is you getting mad that you're not finding enough reason to be mad.

Also, blast doubles  are tiring. What is Varner even talking about?

I honestly think it's CTE related. I know he's had issues from too much hard sparring for a long time now.

Who cares about what this loser has to say? Sanko is a knowledgeable commentator and she clearly does her research and practices ahead of time.
I understand there is probably a fear that a male dominated audience won't be thrilled with a female commentator, but I think she has the respect of almost all MMA fans at this point.

I have no issues with her. She is as good (and better) than some of the guys that commentate these fights.

Better than PFL garbage or any of the lower organic.

She does probably feel the need to build her credibility to the audience because of the stereotype that she's just a pretty face and tits.

DC makes training/guys he's fought/etc comments/references all the time and so does Cruz and Bisping. I think if you're looking for a reason to dislike her, that's an easy characteristic to hyperfocus on.

Overall, I think she's intelligent, well spoken, funny and has an easily understandable perspective while calling fights.

Jimmy Smith was one of the best commentators they ever had.

Dude knew his shit, he was a consumate professional, he had tons of experience.

UFC did him dirty and did the fans a disservice as well.
