Josh Barnett Has Been Released By The UFC

All these people saying, "USADA fucked Barnett!" remind me of guys I've met who got a DUI and blamed the cop who stopped them. Right, they held you down and made you drink that beer, huh? Then forced you into your car and put the keys in the ignition, too.
The USADA didn't fuck Barnett, Barnett fucked Barnett.
 
He'll be working in Japan, New Japan.

as far as both the UFC and USADA are concerned (which is ultimately all that matters) he was retired from active competition.




You can take retirement in the literal sense, as in what people do when they get to 60/65, but in a sporting sense, Josh "retired from active competition" and as such was considered (by the only people that matter) as a "retired athlete"

The legacy problem with Josh Barnett:
Early in his career he didn't move the needle away from himself and late in his career he didn't move the needle.

no, it was not a "false positive", there is no such thing in anti as a "false positive".. his sample was positive...

but he was able to demonstrate lack of fault and got off with a warning.

and it was a shade over 1 year..

He tested positive in December 2016, his hearing was 15 months later.

Not surprised here, UFC is releasing guys for much less drama with them, let alone a guy who’s in trouble with USADA...

Lesnar is awesome and the most entertaining fighter in MMA history. Barnett is inactive and has tested positive like 5x

Not only beating fighters but folding whole orgs.
Thats how its done.
 
Barnett is already in the land of true warriors, pro wrestling. He doesn't need to be on UFC's sinking ship anymore.
