Its still a detention center if they're with adults. And lets be real, they just crossed a country to get here. Is is really a hardship to wait for the asylum process to finish in comparison?

If there's sincere concern about anybody, like known gang affiliation or violent behavior when brought in, expedite the hearing to limit the time that these people are being detained. Children would enter protective service the way you would have any abandoned children identified by law enforcement in those rare cases.
