Luke Thomas on Ariel Helwani:"We are not friends and i dont intend on us ever being friends" UPDATED

I don't believe Luke said anything wrong. He addressed the question asked. They don't have to like each other and we don't have to pick sides.

This is a pattern now with Thomas. Pretending to be taking the high road, then talking shit anyway. Luke, ‘taking the high road’ does not include insinuating that someone is a jerk and that you have dirt on him. Google it, since you’re such a serious journalist now.
Couldn't have said it better

I'd probably trust Thomas before Helwani. Helwani is good at what he does though, whereas Luke just can't stop himself from being a prick.
Perfect comment. You have then both figured out.

Luke is salty that he got sold a bill of goods with the failed MMA Hour 2.0, while Ariel went on to bigger and better things with ESPN.

anyone know the actual story? they seemed close on the mma beat when they were on that together, even joked around on it

It's bound to be the fact that Luke carried on Ariels show, that had to be the spark.

Having said that, I bet behind the cameras Ariel is very different to what the public see! If I had to guess Id bet he has a secret sex dungeon filled with African slaves. (it's first thing that popped into my head).

That or he enjoys snorting Coke of hookers butts behind his Mrs back.

I'm only kidding ofcourse. I bet Helwani hates most MMA fighters secretly and has told Luke loads of juicy gossip.

Luke Thomas and Kevin Lee are the two things that are always guaranteed to trigger Sherdog. It's hilariously predictable.

This is idiot still has a show and somebody actually watches it?

Ariel is everything that's wrong with MMA. The whole Triple C, Colby bullshit. TMZ trash.

There's never been anything remotely like a journalist in mma...

I mean journalism is a serious career that most people don't even understand what goes into.

do you really want to cover an organization where fighters fight in a literal cage. with some dude in pedophile suits introducing everyone. it's cheesy as fuck. It's vegasy bullshit. It's like entering a casino and you see all the 75 year olds in wheel chairs with oxygen masks playing slots. if you have integrity it's not where you want to be.

Been paying attention to MMA for a long time, and I've never really cared about Luke's opinion at all. Not even sure why exactly, but he's a guy I've just always chosen to ignore.

Luke please punch that time clock. Do it

Timestamped (for the exact quote go to 12:27):

Just said it on his show.

Didnt want to get into much details. Said that if he wanted to blast Ariel he would have more than enough to do so and cash in all the attention the video would get, but he would rather take the high road.

what's the update?

I can only guess, which is slightly better than nothing.

Do you remember when Jon Jones dissed Luke Thomas at a press conference? I wondered why that happened, so I tweeted Luke Thomas asking him why that happened. Luke Thomas blocked me after that. I concluded from that - rightly or wrongly - that Luke is an extremely sensitive guy who's easily offended. It doesn't take much for this kind of person to dismiss others from their lives unless there's a deeply-rooted relationship, and obviously Ariel and Luke never had that. Sooner or later if we're in the life of someone like that we're going to do or say something that may seem trivial to us, but is very serious to them.

Like I said, slightly better than nothing.
