Movie Pass: 10$ A Month For 1 Free Movie A Day In Theaters

Girlfriend used MoviePass today with me and had no problems.

Knock on wood.

It's crazy how bad of a business model this is. How in the fuck did they expect to make a profit?

They thought they were going to disrupt the market so much, that theaters and studios would pay them for consumer info, and for a portion of concessions or ticket sales. It was always a race to see if the would have the cash to survive until they could make those deals. Guarantee theaters will see a big slump in sales if it goes bust, but the spark is already going, so you will see more one price packages start up.

Yeah just seemed like a big gamble to take. I agree were gonna see more similar ideas pop up

The current model is just unsustainable. Come spend $50 at the movies so we can just barely make a profit. Maybe in a world where we didn't have Netflix for less than ten bucks a month.
