That's his gimmick. I kinda like it.

But yeah, the media kinda brushed off Beto's drunken hit an run accident. I can see why people like the guy. He had clever ads, used social media well, and rode a skateboard and had that young and fresh appeal. No joke, he could be president some day. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. He's currently losing badly heading into midterms.

He's had a huge haul of donations, which is a good sign that he engenders enthusiasm. He's also taking up most of the free media attention some other Dems in actually winnable races really need. Sinema could use a little prime time whitewashing right now. She can still win despite the damning ads that have come out.

They're trying to have their cake and eat it too. A bunch of GOP-controlled states are suing to have the pre-existing condition coverage mandate declared unconstitutional, but Republicans who've signed on to the lawsuit are pretending that they're against ACA repeal.

Prime example of this fuckery is Scott Walker. He's claiming that he's working to protect the popular parts of the ACA while trying to undermine the law. Luckily, nobody is buying his bullshit.

I can't tell you his stance in a comprehensive way, although it seemed pretty standard for left Democrats, but I was specifically referring to his backing a push for a ban on assault rifles, with a broad definition of constitutes an assault rifle. That alone pushed election in Texas out of his reach imo.
I think he has an F rating from the NRA, while Cruz has an A.

Yeah, I'm not sure how you can win Texas with a mostly anti-assault rifle and anti-large capacity magazine position. That would be perfectly reasonable in some states, but not there. What he has going for him is a mass appeal, a fresh face, a decent ability to communicate, and a very Latino-friendly stance. But I don't think he can win Texas.
 
I see his fucking signs everywhere me and my wife went out and were talking about it. Haven't followed him enough to know one way or the other if he's good or not but I know he supports marijuana
 
He’s very popular here. However, in a general he’d get slaughtered. Irish guy pretending to be Latino who had gotten out of criminal charges due to family ties. Ultimate white privilege.

I love him.

He's down by 8 points in the last poll, and raised $38 Million and refuses to share the wealth with other Democrats with more competitive poll numbers when a few million could be all the difference.

He recently said his mother is a lifelong Republican, but didn't mention she donated to Obama and other Democrat Congressmen from Texas.

He's looking timid and nervous in his debates with Cruz.

So I really hope he spends every dollar of that $38 Million in the hopes of being elected.

Go Beto!
