I missed the discussion on NFL kickoffs until I saw this from Tuesday.


The NFL wants more returns so they may require the kickoff to land between the 20 and the goal line and eliminate the fair catch. A kick into the end zone comes out to the 45. Short of the 20 it comes out to the 35. The ball is kicked from the 35 but the rest of the kicking team line up at the opponents 40. The receiving team line up at their own 35.

No but I did watch the offensive line be one of the most penalized in the league taking touchdowns off the board. Which were few in far between because the WR/TE core not only lead the league in drops but couldn't muster a single 1000 yard receiver between them.

Mahomo still managed to throw for 4200 yards and help win a super bowl despite this.

All of that is totally fair, until he repeatedly got benched for the ZapMan and the pats were slightly better. I liked Jones a lot his rookie year and I gave him a ton of breaks his second year. He made so many terrible choices on the field this year and that’s really it.
