That's the only way I played and beat it. I never even had it on my TV once. That goes for most switch games other than Xenoblade which I just enjoyed way to much to wait during the work week to dive back into.

Yea a lot of the controls during the tutorial show things that you need to do with the joycons disconnected from the device but honestly I didn't ever need to do any of that fancy stuff and it just felt like fancy moves for the sake of having fancy moves.

All of this stuff is basically just moves that involve throwing the hate.

The motion stuff is neat, but nowhere near necessary to play. I prefer the controller, but it is awesome on either screen.

OMG I spotted Bravely Third, a new Zelda game (sounds like a top down style), Pokemon Diamond/Pearl remakes among all the other awesome ones. I shouldn't get my hopes up but this list seems like it could be accurate. ALL of the titles announced in the last Direct and Nindies are on there.

All of this stuff is basically just moves that involve throwing the hate.

There's definitely end-game power-moons that require you to do *some* cool hat tricks (I haven't gotten all of them by a longshot though, so there could be some that absolutely demand you do some stupid combos). But my wife and I beat the entire game together without any of that stuff.
