NBA stars do better with endorsements than other pro athletes. Mike Trout for example only made 3 million in endorsements last year and he's the greatest player of all time (statistically proven through WAR). Most NFL players do not make much in endorsements, even when they're famous. You sort of need a personality for that and most of them are bland jocks. Basketball and soccer lends itself better to self expression.
