Russia/Ukraine Megathread V5

The reality is that I have nothing against western people, I am western myself. I am just not blind to the truth and reality of world events like the vast majority of people. By some miracle I see the brainwashing of the mainstream media, I see it everyday and it makes me sick, and they are masters at it. They know how to word things perfectly to insuate something or put an idea in your head. The people are under a spell, and I could easily be one of the blind nitwits parroting the talking points of other blind nitwits, but instead I actually have a now rare ability to think about a situation and see it for what it is, without anyone having to tell me how to think. The problem with most people is that they have lost the ability to think for themselves and don't even realize it. You only think or know what you are told. You are overtrusting with with news sources that lie and deceive you on a daily basis. I am also human and can be decieved, we are all being deceived, but we do the best we can to try and navigate through life trying to find the truth. You guys trying to silence anyone with an opposing opinion is worse than anything I've ever said or done here. I let people speak their minds, and I try to argue it rationally. If you think someone is wrong about something, then explain to them why they are wrong and try to open their eyes on the truth instead of shutting them down and trying to silence them.

Good post, I'll add that my impression is that some people live their lives so comfortable that they need a cartoonish "good vs evil" battle, because it's a part of human nature, we need that shit. That's why it's always some "evil lunatic" that is trying to destroy the world and must be stopped. Over and over again. So you got people cheering for one side or the other, probably even knowing that they've been lied to but don't care much about it. To be fair, most of the people here are cool, aside from a little banter, which is fine by me. It's the war room, after all. But I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Seems like combating Nazism is a no brainer yes answer.

I can understand Europe being silent, because we're pussies, but America voting no?

Really?

You hate Russia so much you're losing braincells?

So combating Ukrainian leadership is a no brainer?

During a televised address Mr Putin told the Ukrainian military it would be “easier for us to make a deal with you” than with “this gang of drug addicts and neo-Nazis”, in an apparent reference to the Ukrainian leadership.

massive ukranian flag just gone up at the rugby game in paris, trollin putin big time

Can you explain what Putin means by the de-Nazification of Ukraine? Is this something he has already accomplished in Russia and now wants to bring to Ukraine?

Honestly I cannot.

I don't even know what it means.

At this situation I compare Ukraine with what's going on with Russians in my country, and assume that Putin might have a problem with the push of cultural nationalism by Ukrainians, and their attempts to strip the Russians of their russian identity (official language ban, education reform, etc.), alienating them from Russia in the process after a couple generations.

He wants to step in before it's too late.

Are you Russian mate?
Look at what Russia has done in Syria to the civilian population.
Do you really think the Ukrainian Army is going to use an Ukrainian hospital to shoot at Russians?
Why do you think the US is lying about everything?
If Russia and the US are lying, who is telling the truth?

I don't know why the Hospital was targeted. It could literally be anything from bad intel, to a weapon missing it's target, to armed resistance at the hospital. I don't know. I just don't thinkt that part of the Russian military strategy is to target civilians. I would give pretty much any nation this benefit, and when the US has bombed hospitals and killed civilians, I give them this benefit as well.
It's nonsensical to target civilians because it's a negative to what Russia is trying to accomplish. The more civilians die the more support for some type of intervention and more western interference and sanctions.

I believe the US is lying about everything because the US has a history of lying about everything. They are going to shine any and every event in the worst possible light, make it sound as bad a possible, and yes it's welll known the western media are a bunch of liars. We all know this.

The truth is that in a war of this size, with this much support from the west, I just don't see how people expected it to go any other way. Zelensky has been trying to get civilians to fight against the Russian Army for him, he's on TV everyday. Civilians die in wars like this, it's inevitable. I just don't think that it's a strategy to target them. You are acting as if me not thinking Putin wants to kill every civilian makes me crazy.

It’s a very odd way to achieve those aims. I honestly believe the major aim is something else.

He wants to step in before Ukraine keeps their citizens patriotic to the country? If people want to be Russian they can move there. Sending in "ethnics" and then annexing land shows your hand.

A 2 second search for an anonymous data set with no title? Are you being serious? No one can be that stupid surely.... If you are going post stuff to prove your pro-Russian stance then at least have the decency to quote the source. And thanks for nothing, you posted a tweet in Russian when I asked for a source....

This was a motion brought forward by Russia, and those who abstained had concerns regarding its free speech implications.
Notice how even Germany abstained, even though they literally ban nazi advocacy and symbolism.
To interpret anything out of this vote is pointless.
Now Ukraine obviously voted against it as they did in 2014, where as before they had abstained. Now what happened in 2014.... I wonder......
Oh maybe there are concerned that Russia are using this as some sort of vehicle to persecute Ukraine. Clearly the US thought that too. And it was the US who correctly predicted that Russia would invade Ukraine, so it looks like they were right to be suspicious of this anti-nazi bill.

Now tell me my russian bot friend, why does the Russian state run a social media site with the largest concentration of nazi sympathiser groups on the entire planet? I'm talking about VK. The Russian version of facebook. And I've seen with my own eyes it is filled with fucking open Nazis.
VK is a porn site
