best surf and turf ever was either at Osso Steakhouse on California St in SF a few months ago or the Brazen Head on
Buchanan.
cool little place with epic cuisine and great drinks as well.

Surpised you didn't go with Tadich Grill.
 
def right up there, but more of a lunch spot IMO.
and a bit on the touristy side
 
I would rather go with grilled fish any day over lobster. I think it's fine, and a solid lobster role chowda' or bisque in New England is a solid standard, but I still prefer grilled Arctic Char.

If you're ever in Boston, skip Legal Seafood and check out the Atlantic Fish company. Ironically the site of the Boston marathon bombing.
