I do find it bizzare though maybe they are paranoid about something what that something is i have no clue. If i was a billionaire i would build my own batman cave though lol.

It’s probably this. They have way too much money and no idea what else to do with it.

They world has been turbulent since COVID, and a lot of countries are starting to try and challenge the stability America has built since the end of WWII, that much is true. Still, I think things will calm down in a couple of years. These things tend to come and go in cycles.

I think its moreso that they fear a collapse but are unwilling to change what they are doing to try and prevent one.

I would say generally the mistake thats made is thinking the ultra wealthy have some terrible future plan to change the world when in reality the world as it exists today is already run largely for their benefit and is a pretty terrible place already and likely on a path to even more terrible events in the coming decades.

Most obviously I think the idea that billionaires want to end democracy is probably incorrect, I think the situation we have now in much of the western world is ideal for them. You have a managed democracy in which only politicians who are in thrall to them are allowed to wheld power and a population which has been raised to believe otherwise. This is a much more stable system of control than an open dictatorship would be, that would lead to much greater likelyhood of uprising and also of some rival or military man getting control and usurping their power/wealth.

You're misunderstanding the mindset of a billionaire businessperson. There's no point where they realize they have a good racket going and leave well enough alone. Thats the main reason their doom is inevitable no matter how total their victory is it will never be enough. They will always keep pushing for more cutting more corners. If people are satisfied enough in 2023 where they are willing to live with the the status quo the status quo are going to keep pushing until that changes. They can't help themselves its not in their nature. They are not thinking about the sustainability of their racket.
