So, Tatiana Suarez is going to kill Rose, right?

Andrade fades, are you sure you're not thinking of Gadelha? Even in the fifth round of their title fight it was Joanna looking at the clock and Andrade who was still going strong.

I was actually thinking of her fights vs Tecia and Gadelha. But maybe I need to rewatch them. I remember Andrade slowing but maybe I'm off base.

Suarez's CURRENT wins are devastating.
You just sound so ridiculous at this point.

"There's no way Fighter B could beat fighter A because fighter A lost to those girls YEARS AGO"

She's 3 fights removed from losing soundly, idc about what judge was dumb enough to give her the fight, to Karolina. She has been outstruck, outwrestled, dominated, outmuscled and outmoved in the UFC. I always said she was a bad matchup for Joanna and clearly was/is. That doesn't mean she can suddenly stay on her feet against a WORLD CHAMPION MEDALIST the way no one else has been able to. I've always thought Suarez would beat Joanna too, even back to her TUF run.

I'd favor Grasso on the ground against Rose, maybe even say they're 50/50 and Suarez, quite recently, made Grasso look like a white belt.
Devastating wins over non contenders.
You dont care what judges say.
You dont care that Karolina won with landing a few more strikes.
You dont care what rankings say.
You dont care that 2014 was a long time ago.
You just want everyone to swallow you're opinion as fact that Suarez is the uncrowned champion without her ever beating a top 5 oponent AND never facing any elite mma strikers.
These are different people BUT this is the same hype Andrade had vs joanna, "She's bigger" "she dominated lower level compitition her takedowns are unstoppable" joanna worked her over, and I believe Rose is going to do the same come mar/apr.
Unless we see the ufc match Suarez with a joanna or karolina in the meantime and see how she handles great striking, there's nothing to say she can handle it. We're all just guessing how she can.

Esparza is the former champ with a win over the current champ, and had gotten robbed by Gadelha, another contender, in her previous fight. She's a contender and Suarez dominated her. How are non-wrestlers who can't stop the takedown going to test Suarez?

And Rose was 1-1 with a win over Karate Hottie when she got her title shot. I didn't see you demanding for her to be tested, even though she hasn't fought a wrestler since Esparza dominated her.

As the sitting champ who hasn't fought any contenders and plans to not fight for a year, Rose is the one who needs to be tested here. And Suarez is the one to do that.

Suarez is a very dangerous fighter from a stylistic perspective for almost everyone in the division. So you take someone like Esparza. She's not only a very solid wrestler, one of the best in the division, but she's also an improved striker with solid, darting movement and speed. Suarez, meanwhile, is a high level specialist. She's a terrific wrestler, with great submission skills. We saw how she dominated the grappling against Esparza and then put her away. That is impressive. Carla could not thwart her takedowns nor could she escape the onslaught.

She tore through a good fighter in Alexa Grasso with no resistance. It was impressive. Grasso has shown a talent for scrambles and for defending herself well when fights hit the ground and Suarez just overwhelmed her and quickly got her out of there.

So if you're a striker, you can't stop her from taking you down and advancing position. If you're a grappler, she's a better grappler.

Not to mention that at 115 pounds, Suarez's liabilities (the fact, for instance, that she's a rudimentary striker at this point in time) are not even major setbacks. Other than Andradre and a few key others, who has the power to make her pay for those deficits. She can absorb a shot and then completely nullify offense by taking the fight to the ground.

The interesting matchups for her are likely Andrade and Joanna because Andrade is a dynamic beast with power and a lot of cardio and Joanna has some of the best takedown defense the division has to offer as well as substantially better striking. Still, I think Suarez matches up pretty well with either of them.

I think Rose is actually in for a rough fight. Very well-rounded, slick submission skills, good kickboxing, great finisher. But I think her takedown defense is potentially still porous and that she will struggle to use her guard and sub skills effectively against someone as competent in the ground game as Suarez.

Was she a noob when Karolina kicked her ass two fights before she fought Joanna?
Pat Barry says that was his fault. He had caused her grief with his substance abuse problems and gotten himself banned from her fight camp. It was in the clinch that Rose lost, she was winning at distance, and clinch is what Pat would have coached.

Even if you don't buy that... Rose's subsequent training camps with Valentina Shevchenko surely raised her clinch game.

Non-wrestlers test her by hitting her in the face hard often and repeatedly. What a silly question.

Rose was tested she fought the #1 contender joanna. Next up is the number #2 Andrade in spring.

Don't miss read me Suarez is #3 and should be. She doesn't NEED to fight anyone special a win over Waterson or Gadelha will secure her title shot too. But if she doesn't we still wolnt have any information on how she handles it before the fight.
