Nothing much to work out. He pointed the hypocrisy of the EU criticizing him for seeking more friendly relations with Russia, considering that they're the ones making million-dollar deals with the Russians, and becoming increasingly dependent on Russian resources.

He didn't say that you shouldn't try to get along with the Russians. It's just the double standards being applied to him, that frustrated him.

Basically, he's supposed to shit all over Putin, and serve as the world's megaphone for condemning all the tyrants that supposedly "threaten democracy", while Merkel and other EU cronies get to go around shaking hands with Putin and make huge trade deals with him.

There is a legal process but they have the power to initiate that legal process (which they won't, obviously).

This is the kind of bureaucratic bullshit that Eurocrats often hide behind, thinking that everybody other than them is stupid. You basically delegate the responsibility to no one, behind the massive bureaucratic layers of the EU, so that nothing will have to be done, excusing your ineptitude and lack of action by making claims about the "process". People will only buy this so long, before they start craving for the strong-man leadership of a Trump, or an Erdogan.

It appers that Trump is atleast clever enough to not fall for the same old bullshit excuses and political jargon.
