Edwards was indicted, but ultimately found not guilty at trial. His defense was he paid off the woman years previously to make sure his cancer stricken wife didn't find out and thus it had nothing to do with the election and thus improper campaign contribution. Trump's lawyer paid off Stormy a month before election day.

Nothing’s gonna happen to Trump. He’s not Edward . Too smart for that. The more the left comes at him with these petty little offenses, the harder the resolve of his supporters. CNN did at survey of the damage the did to Trump on a group of women voters and they shrugged off Stormy Daniels like the piece of trash that she is.

I’m reminded of one of Malcom Gladwells books in which he said the near misses of the bombings of London by Nazi Germany made Britians tougher. Trump already survived grab gate. None of these can do anything to him
 
What I find most fascinating about this, is watching the religious on the right try to twist this into a good thing.

That's not the type of things that shock me. I'm used to hearing about how the deep state and media want to spread fake news to discredit Trump. The stuff that shocks me is the God's plan, things in the past don't matter, it was a trial by God and he wasn't ready at the time and had to change, unconditional support

$130K is nothing to Trump, and paying off some lying whore to prevent bad publicity is worth it, whether true or not.

Plenty of rich people pay others off when they actually didn't do anything wrong, just to prevent bad coverage. It isn't anything exclusive to Trump, he's just the most viewed person in the world right now so it would be major publicity for perhaps, a two-bit pornstar who was desperate for attention/money?

Trump has stiffed a lot of people, so why the hell would he pay her if she was lying.
Paying her off automatically make him look guilty, so why would he pay her. Innocent people , especially with the money and lawyers at Trump's disposal, would fight her in court.
