Strong belief in God= Goat status?

I heard Tyson Fury tonight talking about how his lord and saviour helped him rally in the 3rd and fourth round and it got me thinking.

Fedor: Strong belief in God
Khabib: Strong belief in God
Vitor Belfort: Same
Anderson Silva: Same
GSP: not so much, at least not publicly.
Mike Tyson: Same
Muhammad Ali: Same

Even Jon Jones never stops talking about God even when he’s driving drunk or doing steroids or beating up his wife.

that’s almost every single goat I can think of.

Almost all Brazilian fighters.

It must help you in some way.
Don't think Mike Tyson believed in God so much when he was champion. He converted to Islam in prison iirc.

Those fighters mentioned aren’t exactly intellectuals, yeah some imaginary person up in the sky is taking time out of his day killing and raping innocent people around the planet to help the Gypsie king dominate a brother, actually he might be right
Yeah haha it's so silly

Somewhere in the world right now there's a kidnapped child who is getting raped and beaten everyday, the family is praying, the kid is praying, but none of their prayers will be answered.

But yeah, let's help Khabib go undefeated!

The overwhelming majority of people on the planet believe in a magical sky daddy. Especially in countries like Brazil and America.
Dumb thread
People seem to have a hardwired overwhelming desire to worship something or someone.
Luckily some of us already figured out who that someone should be...

Belief and religion are not the same thing but I don't blame you for mixing them up, many do.
I agree (to a point) about religious ones but even then, things differ from person to person. There are religious people who walk the walk more or less. Then there are religious ones who can be the worst of people on general.
Even when it's about religion and religious people, things are not that clear to put a pin on them.

Btw, I also agree with what you said about capitalism but I'd add communism, socialism and all the rest in. Someone might ask "Which kind of government would be the closest to Jesus' teachings?". Tough to say really but I lean to democracy; Giving the people the freedom to do what they want, even if it'll blow up in their faces. I could be wrong but that's what I'd pick currently.
I think i agree largely with your first statements.

As for the economic systems: if we go by their definition, socialism is a mega fair system and the fairest behind communism*; all means of production are collectively owned and regulated by the whole society and things are not made to gain some form of profit, but solely to fulfill everyone's needs.
*(Communism is meant to evolve from socialism, but only after several criteria are met. Of course, if all people in a socialist society decide that they don't want communism, they could stay with the former.)

Last week the Catholic Church announced it raped 330,000 boys in France.
You went to church this morning.

The sense of security with which religious people move in this world is frightening.

What?

1. I'm not catholic
2. Hitler and many atheist leaders have killed MILLIONS more than Christians.

I don't pay attention to their definitions. To me they're just distractions, engineered to keep the eyes of the people off the goal. I'd rather pick a system called "Goofy McBooger" as long as it was created by the citizens in a truly democratic environment. It could have tons of flaws and it wouldn't matter, it would only get better because the people themselves would be in charge of it (along with everything else).

how... wow, that's the worst line i've seen in a while.

did you literally just try to counter Christians love raping children with "b-b-but Hitler's worse!"? I can't...

Why not? Since were bringing up random facts about child rape and murder that are completely irrelevant to the OP and somehow relating me to it, by me going to church, I figured I'd throw my own dumb facts in? Just because some idiot who claims he's a christian but is NOT(these rapists) has NO effect on someone being a Christian or going to church. It was a pointless response form him.
