the bad thing about justin losing

He’s so aggressive on the feet khabib lands takedowns all night.

What point are you trying to get across? That Gaethje will use his wrestling to out wrestle Khabib? Has he shown any sign of being a wrestler first in his first two UFC fights?

You throw out D1 wrestler like it magically means he would beat Khabib.
Why would Gaethje try to outwrestle Khabib? That doesnt make a lot of sense.

Apparently many people havent watched Gathje's fights before the UFC, the guy is extremly hard to take down and almost impossible to hold down. He would fear Khabib's takedowns the least out of all current LWs. Combine that with his standup game, which is obviously better than Khabib's

Neh, breh. He is a Leben type fighter, and those fighters are best given fun match ups and kept away from title shots. Poirier getting a TS would be silly too, as he does not got a chance.

styles make fights and his style will trouble khabib certainty.

its not like khabibs feather fists are going to rock him

Then you have guys like Woodley who have elite skills and tools who are intent to do just enough to scrape by on judges' scorecards.

I really don't think that's a fair assessment of Woodley though. If you examine his last three fights closely, styles make fights and his matches not resulting in a finish is every bit Thompson's doing as it is Woodley's. People so easily try to ignore the glaring fact that to this day, in both fights, Woodley is the only man to ever drop and hurt Thompson on multiple occasions. That makes him the only man to ever come that close to finishing one of the hardest to hit and thus hardest to finish fighters in UFC history. Woodley's attempts in both fights do not count as only doing enough to "scrape by." The wise fighter acknowledges and accepts in such instances that if the finish just isn't coming, it's better to get the W and retain. It's a risk vs. reward basis. In the Maia fight, Woodley had a labral tear midfight man. Do you have even the slightest clue how excruciatingly painful and inhibiting tearing your labrum is? Adrenaline won't do shit for you and only those (myself included) who have had one know just how debilitating it feels. You can barely throw a punch properly let alone lift your arm. Woodley's was so severe it required corrective surgery. None of that shit can be classified as doing just enough to scrape by. It's called doing the smart thing with the best choices available to you.
