The Definitive Multivitamin Thread

Please do provide the study that shows a significant difference between a group using the WalMart shit and a group using UltraHighQualityVitamins, keeping nutrition constant. Or are we supposed to believe there is a HUUUUGEEE difference, keeping in mind that the total effect is going to be vanishingly small given a decent diet, just because UltraHighQualityVitamins are described as "carefully formulated and carefully sourced"?

Oh, aren't you cute, like you've almost figured out the forum lingo.

If you don't know about mineral and vitamin absorption or how to look up and research the absorption rates of various compounds I'm not going to teach you.

*pats you on the head*

Keep trying!

I always bought my vitamines at the grocery store. The home brand.

Now, I have bought from a better brand
We take on a daily basis:
Vitamine D3
Cal & mag
Omega 3
Vitamine B complex

and, a multivit,
but the multivit is still from the grocery store. We did not finish it yet.
How can I find out if this multivit is good? Or bad?
something I can look for on the label?

The other vitamins are really good. I notice a difference in my health (two weeks using it now). I wonder if a better Multivit will make it even better :)

I have tried the Nature's Plus - Source of Life liquid and I thought it was pretty good. In the last few years I have considered taking Super Sea veg for life changing results. Check this out Martial Mike http://www.sea-veg.info/super-sea-veg-ingredients.html.
Plenty of testimonials to be seen with this product. Yes they are kinda pricey.

I'm very new to picking out multivitamins and would like to know if the ones on the first post still are the best to take. They seem quite expensive. Any help here?

I have been using MusclePharm's Armor-V multi. I searched and found nothing on sherdog about it. I thought the greens stack and other additives set it apart from others I researched. What do you guys think about this one? It is about 20$ cheaper per bottle on amazon than in GNC.

I would get a spectracell micronutrient test and focus on what you are low/deficient in, then make sure the one you take has an activated form of that. I was deficient in retinol, I look for retinol and not beta carotene for example.
Another thing to look for is 5 methyltetrahydrofolate, the usable form of folate by the body. Folic acid is poorly converted and is not natural.

Has anyone here tried LivingFuel SuperGreens?

Specifications: http://pacificfit.net/images/NewSuperGreensLabel.pdf

edit: vitamin b12 as methylcobalamin. looks legit

I'm looking for a multivitamin that would cover my vitamin and mineral deficiencies due the fact that I'm vegan. What I'm mostly looking for is Vitamins A, D3, K2 and most importantly B12.

Vega One looks good but seriously lacks B12, with only 3mcg per scoop and it's the cyanide version. How can such a trusted and expensive brand use cheap ingredients?

Genuine Health Greens is amazing, but their stuff contain skim milk. :(

I recommend taking a supplement called ''VeggeGreens' it has all of your daily needed greens filled with strong anti oxidants.

I don't know whether it is the rite place to ask but does anyone have a recommendations for a good kids vitamin? We do try to get a good diet for my son but he is autistic and has food issues.

This is the best reviewed children's vitamin on Vitamin Shoppe
It is probably a good choice.

Anyone found a better multi than these 3?

AOR Orthrocore
Lifeforce Mens Multi
Orange Triad

The AOR and Lifeforce ones both have awesome reviews, I'm thinking of possibly getting some of the Lifeforce ones as they aren't badly priced. What's your experience with them?

I'm currently taking GNC Mega Men Sport at the moment.

You wont find a better one than Vitamin Shoppe ultimate man gold. They are reformulated often as new and better things come out.

Unless you consider Life Extension as a viable option.

Oops the Orthocore look very good. 6 capsuls per serving at 46$ a month is expensive though.
Might make up for it by reducing your vitamin cabinet by quite a few bottles though.

The other 2 are not as good as the VS gold ones though

Ughhh, I know you're trying to help out but you just made it so much harder for me haha. The Source Naturals look great and I just wanted confirmation that they were so, then you go and drop some wonder vitamin on me :icon_lol:

Thanks, I'll give them both a bit more research.

The Source Naturals were a bit more reasonably priced than the Orthocare ones, at least where I found them.

Vitamine Shoppe might also charge a fair bit to ship over to the UK, I know it said free shipping on orders over $25 but I can't imagine that applies to international orders.

Orthocore recently changed formula's and appears to have gone in a cheaper direction than in the past.

I've actually dropped multi's.
