Trump Ukraine V 13 -Impeachment Hearing

Well let's see if the other aides that were supposed to have been there corroborate they also heard Trump. Even then Sondland might deny it and even though it would be 3-1 it would probably insulate Trump. I don't know that a rich guy like Sondland would be willing to risk going to jail though if somehow a recording of the conversation or something solid turned up.

Holmes is not an "aide" he is a Foreign Service Officer and his title is Political Counselor. His rank is equivalent to a Colonel in the military.

I hope these hearing continue just so the the American public has a better idea with what FSOs actually do.

The naivety of the media regarding the State Department is mind blowing.

Bloomberg just called Some land the "highest ranking diplomat in Europe". That is simply false and idiotic to publish. Some land is the US ambassador to an organization. He doesn't even have a bilateral responsibility.

Look at it this way: the African Union sits in Ethiopia. Within the embassy,,we have two separate missions: one to the country if Ethiopia and one to the African Union.

The Ambassasor to the AU may have 4 or 5 FSOs that work for them. The ambassador to Ethiopia has a very large network of FSOs and FSNs and a large handful of EFMs that work under them.

When in the same meetings, the Ambassador with bilateral responsibilities (US ambassador to Ethiopia) has higher rank. Plus. They have the actual Chief of Mission Residence.

Sondland is a doofus that gave money to a campaign. He has little authority. He has zero authority regarding a country that is not in the EU, like Ukraine.

Now, why did Sondland refuse to allow the official notetaker for his visit to Ukraine in on his meeting with a local governemt official? After all, Holmes was his control officer for the visit.

Mmmm... career bureaucrat bragging about 33 years in the most corrupt, criminal organizations the world has ever seen. Butt hurt because she got fired with the rest of the swamp that got voted out in Ukraine..
How stupid must one be, I ask?

Ok, my bad, I thought Taylor called him an aide. I think he stated there were two others at the table when Sondland made the call so it's going to depend on their recollection. They'll need to corroborate the account if it's going to have a real impact. Sondland is what's wrong with Trump's administration. He bought his position and is more loyal to Trump than to the country.

What the hell is so good about him pardoning murderers that are/were in the military? And why is that in this thread?

As long as the likes of War criminals like Bush Jr, Obama, Rumsfeld and HRC walk free. I see no reason to imprison the small dogs.

I typed this is another thread, but Sondland encapsulates this attitude as well:

Story from a previous administration:

New ambassador to a Scandinavian country is asked to give an interview by a local newspaper.

Embassy's Press Officer tells the Ambassador that he should do the interview, as a press officer, its their job.

Ambassador says "NO, I can do it. After all, I was a successful businessman before I was appointed ambassador. I know what I'm doing."

Press Officer pushed back and said "Let me do my job." But, the Ambassador insisted.

First question from the journalist: "How did you become ambassador to my country?"

Answer: "You see, I'm what is called a bundler. I raised lots of money during the president's campaign..."

Journalist: "So, you purchased your position?"

Ambassador: "Ah...umm...ummm...ahhhh...um..."

After the interview, the press officer told the ambassador to let the FSOs actually do their jobs that they were assigned, and trained to do.

EDIT: ambassador in this story was not a career FSO. He was a political appointee.

People keep saying she got fired, but she did not. She got reassigned. She covered that in her testimony that she was reassigned to a teaching position in Georgetown. Which, considering she complained about moving 13 times or whatever, she should be happy about.

I mean, she had a 3 year term. It had been almost 3 years, and there was a new Ukraine president. It makes sense to put a new ambassador there, to start the relationship with the new president.

It is all so "meh"

Agreed about the first part of your post. Being curtailed is not the same as being fired. She keeps her title, career, and salary.

I disagree with your second point.

- if there is a change of head of state in Ukraine, the WH should keep the same ambassador to Ukraine. Having consistency is an asset. They have a finger on the pulse of the Ukrainian gov't and population.

- career FSO ambassadors should stay in their assignment until the end of their tour. Again, for consistency. It's not uncommon for career FSO ambassadors to stay put even though there is a new US President. After all, ambassadors do not create policy. They simply report what is going on in reports to Foggy Bottom and the WH so that Washington DC can create policy.

Literally none of that is true. For better or worse, Trump is the first President in our lifetime to pledge to and to take on directly the corrupt deep state establishment. He promised to drain the swamp and fight Globalism and that is exactly what he's tried to do. If he had any level of cooperation from the Dems and their Media we could achieve anything with him.

He will go down in History as one the greatest and most transformational Presidents to ever serve. Sadly, this period in history will be most likely be remembered for the corruption and fall of the Democrat party. High level Dems will almost certainly be going to Prison for their part in trying to Frame a sitting President. A near clean sweep of the current Democrat leadership will occur, and a long period of Conservative rule will follow.

Eventually professionalism and bipartisanship will return. Law will be restored to our land. Our streets will be clean and people will feel safe and prosper again. And all will be right in the land, once again.

The successful troll isn't nearly this obvious.

Hey it's not my fault you put all of your personal info on public websites. If I really wanted to, I could just type your name into my Lexis Investigations portal. Don't worry, you're not that interesting, and I don't care what you do. But really, you should think about maybe not putting your life story on the internet.

Wishing death on people you disagree with, threatening to dox someone, and now this.

Interesting, the kind of person you are.

This just shows we have to many busy bodies all over the globe doing next to nothing and accomplishing little.

What a waste of resources these people are

Isn't Vindman going to be the first one to testify that heard the actual phone call? Kinda hard to discredit him in that case, but I'm sure they'll try.

What about the smears and threats against her?
