And a 65 year old Klitschko too
That’s his only real win against a legit skilled power puncher and he ran away from that rematch I think he would have lost.

Klitschko could beat most guys right now he’s an elite athlete had the Ukrainian war not happened he was coming back . I still have Joshua knocking him out to and I’ve said that from the beginning that’s why he fought Wilder instead whos the least skilled heavyweight I’ve seen at top level .

I see money in this. They should book this fight. Francis now has enough street cred in the boxing community to be taken seriously, and it could be billed as the fight to decide the best KO artist of this era.

Wilder probably KO’s him in one of the mid-rounds, though. The discrepancy in length, speed, and athleticism, would be noticeable.

Idk about cardio, that was a low output fight. But he should carry power into even mid 40s. Thing is Fury couldn't increase the output because of the power, so the power was a detterent for him even needing cardio I think. He still never tired in clinch like I thought he would. But that power + chin is scary. He just needs better ways to get inside and land.

There has yet to be an MMA equivalent of this.

A specialist (arguably) losing to a jack-of-all trades MMA fighter within their specialist sport is far more embarrassing than a specialist beating someone in MMA, where they can still use their skill-set.

High-level kickboxers, wrestlers and BJJ specialists have also won MMA fights against more well-rounded opponents because all these things still work in MMA. It's just that if you don't round out your game, you will get exposed very quickly. Like Mercer was by Kimbo.

Fury’s resume as a champion outside the Wilder fight is Chisora who is a depleted journeyman and Whyte who was his mandatory then Ngannou an unranked boxer in a non title fight .

I hope he fights Ngannou again to really put the stamp on worst resume in history as a boxing champion . Lol

You were probably the same guy who was saying Fury was ducking Whyte until he fought him and knocked him out.

Fury had an off night. It looked like he didn't take Francis seriously, and then fought a horrible fight. It was so bad that some people think Tyson was acting to make Ngannou look better than he is.. But If that were the case, Tyson would have at least tried to cleanly win rounds 9 and 10 to seal the deal.

He did duck Whyte he fought Otto Wallin instead a prospect at the time so that was another cherry pick like this one that almost went wrong . He only fought Whyte bc that guy became his mandatory he was forced into it .Lol

Fury also tried to elbow and cut Francis so that should have been a point deduction.

On top of that, there are a MULTITUDE of professional fighters in both MMA and boxing that think Francis did enough to get the nod. These people forgot more about fighting than you will ever know.

Geez, another one scoring the fight emotionally lol. By the way, I scored the fight 95-94 Fury. A point deduction would’ve made it a draw on my scorecard.

Of course. Someone like Fury would never do anything but try to win, everyone who is claiming conspiracy theories is just a delusional, butthurt boxing fanboy who can't accept the reality of what just happened, and this is coming from a long time boxing fan. Fury underestimated Ngannou and paid the price. Still won the decision but got legitimately embarrassed.

This is a glorious weekend for us MMA fans, I remember 6 months ago boxing fans were saying Francis would lose to Derek Chisora, and the boxing subreddit said Canelo would beat Francis

Not going to happen.

Fury went in with kind of no win proposition to begin with(only win was money) and outside of getting cleanly KO it went about as bad as it could. He'll take his shit win and move on.

Francis is one that it opens more doors for. You already got Hearn screaming about AJ fighting Francis now.

I think Francis does have the benefit of relatively low mileage for his age, didnt start training until a relatively late age and a lot of short fights and generally has not taken a ton of punishment.

I don’t think Joshua goes anywhere near Francis. Too risky for Hearn, who is doing his damndest to resurrect Joshua’s reputation in the eyes of the people. I don’t think Wilder would give a flying fuck and would do it.

They could really promote that one—the two biggest punchers IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD or something like that

Plenty in the top 5 are stuck in contract negotiation hell, Ngannou could help the division and be a big fight to keep them busy.

Maybe Fury likes Otto better than Whyte. Fighting Fury is similar to a Conor red panty night. Not everyone gets or deserves one.

What happened in the Fury v Whyte fight? Oh yeah, Whyte got outclassed and then knocked out.

You must not follow boxing much because Whytes been flat out knocked out before multiple times before he ever fought Fury and he didn’t even throw many punches in that one . Your to emotionally invested to have any normal discussion here . Lol

He's a very fresh 37-year old though. Never been rocked, barely taken any damage. Stipe and Fury are the only ones who landed decent shots on him. Add to that he started late and he's a huge HW whose style is based around his power, then 37 is not that old. Not a spring chicken, but with the above in mind, not old in fight years.
