UFC 226

I noticed that they started offering some last-minute main card props for certain cards a few months back also. Some decision, inside the distance, by sub, by KO etc... lines that they never had before.

Yeah noticed that on a PPV a while back, don't think I've seen it since. Would love if that became the norm

They’ve had them up for 5 or 6 events now, but sometimes they don’t get posted until very last minute, like during the prelims. I think they’ve offered them for the last several PPVs but for sure for the Moraes/Rivera Fight Night too.

Haha that's as last minute as it gets. I'm pretty sure the props don't show up on the app, only on the website.

Emily

-did not change much for this camp but wants
a different outcome then before (r1 sub by gillian)
-happy not fighting someone who was a friend (from tuff series)
-got a new apartment and settled down, was bunking at misha tates condo
-living in las vegas, most training at xtreme courture does not use ufc pi
-still serving (waitress) but not doing much shifts due to upcoming fight
its still a nice job, there close to her and allow her time off also.
-jamie is dangerous everything, good stand up
and dangerous on the ground also. Watched her from tuff series
and knew of her.
-trained with claudia gadelha in past and sometimes when in the area together.
-not afraid of spot light fought for large audiences for casino mma fights.
-ready for all 3 rounds, expects jamie to shoot but she
will keep her distance.
-good camp, finished last hard sparring today.
trained with a bryce harley, 115 weight trainer and expects
it to show this fight.

rountree

-feels calm atm but nervous for this fight have
turned into anger or excitement on the fight.
-different events in his life caused him to change now
its not a past fight or week but new growth from him
heading into this new fight.
-does not visualize how the fight will turn out, since
does not want to predict things since has done it in past
and then been disapointed and doesnt work out well for him.
-respects saki has met him before, all cival between both.
-fights been rescheduled before, so was disapointed
had to readjust that it may not happen even.
-not sure what will happen, not looking at how he
feels and does not want to let himself down. Is
prepared to take new experiences what ever it is.
-more in realization of his own tools and when
he needs to use it, loves to put on exciting fights.
but its mma but has to be prepared for anything.

Saki

-everything all good and prepared and ready for the fight
-training at allstars gym for 2 months, good training and was last year for 1 year for ufc debut
-lots of good up and coming fighters and latifi, alex gus and few others so is happy at allstars
-likes to train with all weight classes so can get a good feel
-trust his coach and always worked well with him
-level and training is crazy, high tempo and
lots of wrestling and ji jitsu at allstars also.
-listening to body due to injuries and adapting to control himself better
-had old meniscus injury but after ufc debut it got swollen
so had to get operation but got worse.
-waited 4-5 months of recovery after op but is better now.
-says fans want to see people knocking guys out and last opponent was
very tough. Was not ready for ufc debut and short camp so didnt perform as good.
-needs to have a challenge otherwise not motivated or hungry to fight.
-says roundtree not a challenge but MMA is for him to learn new things.
-Roundtree is just a stand up fighter, small gloves if he hits me on the chin
he may go down or get ko but says his stand up is great and his wrestling
and ji jitsu is still better then roundtrees.
-says roundree will try and take him down.
-not a point fighter, use to fight hw and use to knock guys even higher up in class
its either I get knocked out or he gets knocked out

Max Griffin

-last few weeks is about mental planning and strategy
-leaves tuesday and 40 minute flight to LA
-still talks to mike perry about how they both end up on both cards often
-discusses his back and forth beef with mike perry but there both cool and just having fun
-was surprised Curtis called him out, does not know why since he is a bad style match up for curtis....
-looking good right now and no one wants to fight him, now training full time mma and left his day to day job.
-now has more time to actually recover, so he does thearapy chamber treatment and ji jitsu sessions so now can recover better rather
then working in corporate job.
-Will expose Curtis, has a lot of false confidence with his good wins but against mma its a different ball game.
Not so much style wise but worked on his strengths, knows curtis has good leg kicks and range, wasnt impressed with his alves fight
and how alves was caught with his hands down and who does this at his opponents range ?
-doesnt expect it to go the distance, curtis can't run that fast
-doesnt want to say how the fight goes but will push the pace with him. Says curtis stalks him on social media and makes remarks to his videos
and pictures.
-Says curtis has terrible cardio so will put the pressure on him
-cant wait to put his fake tough talk down

Anyone find any tape of millender's TDD or his ability to get back to his feet again. I think he will win this fight easily it stays on the feet, but dont want to wager unless i know he al least some TDD or scrambling ability.

anybody have more info on this tavares injury? he making up an excuse or did something happen?

Ever since I saw Roundtree on TUF I thought he was mentally weak and this interview just confirmed that again.

Rountree better get his head on straight and be mentally prepared for a fight. Saki is going to try and knock off his head with right or left hooks and use head kicks.

Saki is training at Team AllStars with Gustaffson and Latifi (for takedown defense), top notch camp. Makes me a lot more confident in my bet.

my notes says that he got taken down at the end of round 1 vs barnes and once he was on his back, he was only looking to control posture. no subs attempts from bottom, or no escapes or scrambles. the round ended with him on his back. I said that he would struggle vs a decent wrestler. not sure if max is that wrestler, but sounds like griffin is going to expose some of his weaknesses.

Thanks I will check it out.

Wrong thread. My understanding of it was that he had a foot injury, it looked nastier than it was (Probably broke a very peripheral bone or something), and it cleared up quickly. A lot of things like that can swell up and look bad, then fix themselves within a day or two.

Sorry shouldn't keep this going in wrong thread but it was actually an old injury that showed up on x-ray. Basically it amounted to absolutely nothing.

Stipe has been able to exploit a very old and worn down HW division.

Look at his last 8 fights aside from Ngannou:
JDS, Werdum, Overeem, Arlovski, Hunt, Gonzaga, Fabio Maldonado, Roy Nelson.

Cormier is competing with athletes in their prime: JBJ, Rumble, Gus etc.
But Werdum was on a 6 fight winning streak before he got stopped by Stipe, and I don't know at what other point in his career Werdum has looked as good as he has during that streak.... so I'd say that was pretty much his prime.

Overeem was also in the middle of a career resurgence before he got stopped by Stipe. A 4 fight winning streak.

Stipe only had one fight where he was absolutely trashed by an opponent and that was by a prime Strufe who put in a career-best performance.

And I don't remember a time when the HW division wasn't made up of older fighters. Maybe since the TUF HW season?

I hear you. I actually consider Werdum to be Stipe's best win. I guess my point is, if Stipe were a little smaller and deciding to cut to 205 as opposed to remaining at HW, I think it would be more difficult for him because the talent is way better imo.

Not saying Stipe is a scrub by any means, just saying that i think his UFC run has been inflated and I really like Cormier's current price.

I've seen this argument a couple times now and don't really understand it. Is it Stipe's fault that Cain can't stay healthy? I mean it was just over 10 years ago that a 44 year old LHW was the champ. He beat this guy:

Stipe's resume is crazy good, not sure how you can say he is overrated.

while its a solid on his record i would not give Stipe much props for the Werdum win.. it was more Werdum handing him the win on a silver platter :)

i mean come on now that might be the dumbest thing i have seen in MMA :D

This thread is mostly just people who have bet on fighters trying to convince themselves that their bets will win.

Lets be as objective as possible so we can win money

According to Tavares. I saw that interview.

I don't believe a word of what fighters say before fights. "I had the best camp, im injury free etc". Always be skeptical of that shit

Yeah but if it wasn't he wouldn't get cleared. No way these docs are gonna risk malpractice or losing their license just so that a guy doesn't have to pull out of a fight.

+10u on Cormier because someone referenced stefan struve in this thread and referred to the period where he beat pat barry and two other cucks as his 'prime'

my blood is on your hands now

Are you including yourself in that analysis?

I'm not asking that to be a dick, it's just that you've given strong opinions just like a lot of us have (nothing wrong with that though). I'm just trying to understand why you've come to the conclusion that it's mostly confirmation bias here. I'm not even saying you don't have a valid point to a degree, I just think it can be tough to really know how much that's true.
