Venom Page is the real deal and showed he always belonged in the UFC

He would still get wrecked against the wrestlers near the top of the division. But some of those elbows and punches he landed would have folded most fighters in the division. Holland just has that Chito-esque uncrackable chin.

Jake Shields/Hector Lombard (both came to the UFC with double-digit win streaks) and many others who couldn't come close to replicating what they did outside the UFC. Gilbert Melendez, Chandler and many others come to mind as well.
Chandler was one punch away from being champ against Oliveira, and he was way out of prime by the time he came to the UFC. Prime Chandler would have been champ in the UFC at some point.

Chandler was 34 in his first UFC fight. Volk just held the FW belt at 35. Islam is only 2 years younger at 32 right now. He should be at least "pretty far out of prime" by now if Chandler was at age 32. Stop coping.

Difference is, Chandler was is a shit ton of wars in Bellator. He became champ over there at a very young age, against Alvarez. He got knocked out a few times, he was in a bunch of wars, and if you look at his fights in the past compared to now you can see he has a worse gas tank, has a worse chin (it used to be iron), and he is slightly slower. It's not coping to point out the fact that Chandler was out of prime by the time he came to the UFC. Volk and Islam never got into the wars that Chandler did.

They gotta book MVP vs Wonderboy before anything else messes it up

Why? He’s gonna fuck wonderboy up.

I’m eating some crow. Holland isn’t a top 5 guy but he’s huge, and he’s an athlete. MVP made him look stuck in the mud.

Give him a high level contender in a title eliminator. No need to waste time on a guy at his age and experience level.

I don't agree with all of this hyperbole that he destroyed Holland or that he is headed straight for the title. But he had an interesting style, unorthodox with some TMA moves, which is cool. That weight doesn't have that many good fighters though, so he can probably do well.

Sure he belongs. Is still quick for his age too. He looked kind of freaked out when Holland had him on his back with his forearm across his throat. I could see a heavier grappler laying heavy on him and GnPing him.

It's too late now and wrestlers will obviously wreck him but if you match him with strikers you can always complete a PPV main card with a fun fight

I just dislike watching him a LOT. Picked him to win though.

Chandler had a few wars in Bellator with Alvarez and Will Brooks (who was a complete flop in the UFC). Most of his fights were easy, low-impact matches against guys like Sydney Outlaw , Girtz, Yamouchi, Campos, etc. He easily LnP's most and KO'd a few. UFC fighters like Ferguson, Cerrone, Poirier, MJ, etc. had a lot more actual wars against consistently good competition.

MVP didn't need a win over Holland to prove he's the real deal, he'd already beaten better guys in Bellator.
This. But as you can see a lot of people watched him for the first time ever

Bellator's WW div was sick with Lima, Koreshkov, Amosov, Jackson, Larkin, MVP, Storley, Kuramagomedov, Berkhamov, Neiman, Goiti, Poclit around..And even some fun dudes who love to scrap like Chokheli and Ward. It was one of my favorite divisions for sure
