Which MILITARY UNIFORM is the best in history, in your opinion?

A thread could just be made about this guy. The guy was probably the most prolific bomber in history. If you made a movie about him, people wouldn't believe it.

North of 2,000 kills I believe. Including a fucking battleship!

The only man to win the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds.

I don't know which books you have been reading, but you are absolutely wrong about Rommel. He was one of the all time best Generals. Patton himself worshipped the man. Highly respected by the Allies for his tactics and the way he treated prisoners. The fact you don't know how he died tells me you don't know much about him. The guy was a brilliant tactician. Read his book 'Attacks', specially his years as an Infantry Lieutenant in WWI. He was never 'buddies' with Hitler. Hitler was his 'Commander-in-Chief'.

I know how he died I just never mentioned it.

And there is a difference between command at a Strategic level and Tactical level, I even said earlier that he was a great tactical leader but there is a lot of examples that he was not the best strategic leader or grand strategist.

He was friends with Hitler its a accept fact there is no debate about it. He was even head of his private security at one point.

Starcraft space marines

The brotherhood of steel from fallout was pretty badass looking and I think we will have suits like this in my lifetime.

The battleship story was just unreal. So, the port is underattack and he and his partner just decide to attack it on their own and they manage to sink a fucking battleship by themselves.

The guy would be remembered more today if he was such a fucking Nazi even after the war.

Rommel was never a Nazi party member.

Semantics. He believed in key points of Nazi ideology, including conquering other nations to provide, "living space" for Germans. And while he wasn't blind to Hitler's faults, he supported him in the early days of the war.

Them Nazi uniforms had the wow factor.

I have never heard of bope.

BOPE - 'Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais', literally "Special Police Operations Battalion". A special police unit of the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro State (PMERJ) in Brazil. Due to the nature of crime in favelas, BOPE units have extensive experience in urban warfare. The two 'Elite Squad' movies are based on real facts. Hard to get in. Once in, they get paid more than the regular police in the hopes of not being involved in corruption. They are great at what they do, urban warfare. Formed in 1978, these guys don't fuck around when called into action. Highly feared by criminals in Rio de Janeiro. I lived in Rio for a few years and can attest to that.

Hugo Boss didn't design anything related to the SS

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_Boss

"[in 1928] he became a Reichszeugmeisterei-licensed supplier of uniforms to the Sturmabteilung (SA), Schutzstaffel, Hitler Youth, National Socialist Motor Corps, and other party organizations.

By the third quarter of 1932, the all-black SS uniform was designed by SS members Karl Diebitsch (artist) and Walter Heck (graphic designer). The Hugo Boss company was also one of the companies that produced these black uniforms for the SS. By 1938 the firm was focused on producing Wehrmacht uniforms and later also uniforms for the Waffen-SS"

by god you're right

you seem very well informed newfriend

i don't even know the differences between the Waffen-SS and SS or any of the different groups, but i can tell from some of your replies (which i won't quote) that you know a lot more about this stuff than i do.

so what did hugo boss design and not just produce? which uniforms ?

@BearGrounds - Did you know those Marines in the drill team on the movie are not Marines? They are part of the Texas A&M rifle drill team.

I dont think he designed anything for the German military, he was just a Nazi that made money from his connections.

Then provide a link to information about the Jewish Brigade you mentioned in your posts. Because the only one I can find any reference to is the one that was formed in '44.

I will admit it is difficult to find a lot of info on it but there are references to Jewish units fighting in north africa and greece made up of German and Austrian jews.

It still doesnt change that fact that Rommel and his army were nothing out of the ordinary regarding the treatment of civilians in occupied territory.

Read that afterwards actually.

I just remembered that scene from the movie, and posted it as a visual to showcase the uniforms. Plus I like the rifle work regardless.

WWhen i was in the Army i was a member of the United States Army Drill Team. We challenged the Marine corps silent drill platoon to a competition and they didn't show up. I like their uniforms but i think Army Dress Blues are a little better
